Hm, I just noticed that the list of items etelias can't use only mentions yellow fish eggs not the pink ones. I hope that's deliberate and not a mistake.

you don't need pink fish eggs as you already get 2 pristine snowflakes from one etelia...

shana5, the point would be that if they can be used it could allow you to make 4 Pristine Snowflakes from the first. That would be very helpful in speeding along the process of getting all of different poses. I'm hoping you can use pink fish eggs on them.

First

One Two Three Four

One: One* + Two*
Two: Three* + Four*
Three: Five* + Six*
Four: Seven* + Eight*

  • First is the Pristine Snowflake found in the Tundra.
If the pink fish eggs can be used to create four offspring One-Four our the new ones.
  • The * is used after that to mark that they are a new generation, the third. If the second generation consists of four Etetlias instead of two that means the third can have up to eight.
  • If the Tundra remains open into the first-second week of March it will be possible to get two breeding sessions done if you activated your first Pristine Snowflake early enough and the second as soon as the new Snowflakes are created.

If it's possible to get all of them this year, or eight with some duplicates, I need to make sure I get enough of the materials needed to activate them all.

The 2nd one seems to have a 2-2-5 / 3-1-5 attack sequence, so your best bet is attacking it with blow.

Also, I noticed the rabbit/hopper look-a-like has a similar sequence as the 1st one, so most likely 5-2-2 / 5-3-1

Sorry...not sure what you mean? Could you explain how the attack sequence works?

Well, it's just speculation, but it's pretty much autobattle setting. I'm pretty sure all encounters, in explore, are pretty much set to Autobattle, and they each have their one settings/sequence.

Also, @ Monues: Aren't their gender Neuter? I doubt you'll be able to use breeding items on something that can't, technically, breed.

hmm, that would be interesting...

thebeastkeeper, she can explore at 1 (3 days) like any other pet, she just won't breed until day 30. I found she's actually a bit of a disappointment though.... more like a decorative trophy. The wild ones seem to be so OP only because of the high tundra levels they're found on.

....and once again battle with Etelias ended in draw... and then losses in a row ;)

...and right after I posted this I found my snowflake on level 11, yesss!

sigh, another near imossible to get "Uber pet" hoop jump...ever gonna be another regular breed? or other deviant pet collections from the ones who don't have deviant forms yet?

BellaMarsha, while it is definitely a difficult challenge, it is not impossible. And it is in no way an "Uber pet" - as I said Etelia is actually a bit of a dissapointment so far in battling. I feel these are more of a collector's item, the multiple forms supporting this as it adds variety and a challenge to collect them all, and there's some nice genes to support their pretty looks, but power-wise they aren't "Uber" quality.

Personally I've gathered enough of each of the required items to have completed the Pristine Snowflake requirements 3 times now, one batch of which was used to activate my first Pristine Snowflake while the other materials will be held to use for my second gen ones.

What I'm saying is sure, it's hard, and newer users or those who didn't prioritize explore/battle-ready pets may need to get help if they plan on trying to get one, but it is a far cry from being impossible. A pain in the butt, definitely, but not impossible. I'm sure everyone on site has their fair share of griping about the event, including me, but, in all honesty, this isn't a bad deal.

I do agree with BellaMarsha that there have been a lot of Kami events recently, and that it would be nice to see a change of pace like the introduction of a new breed or the release of new deviants. Kami events, while challenging and fun (fun if you succeed, that is), consume a lot of time and resources, and I'd be very glad to go for another few months until the next one. Give me a chance to catch a break and not loathe Explore for a little while.

I'd also like to say that for those who are newer, do not have the time to play this game at the rigorous level required for these events, and/or don't have powerful friends willing to help them out, that yes, these events truly are "near-impossible." This one especially, since it requires not just large amounts of grinding like the other events we've had recently, but also superior pets.

I would gladly trade a kami event for gryphon deviants. I have been waiting since the first deviants came out, and now have a nice group of gryphons ready. After what was done with the roc pattern morphs, im excited to see the ones for gryphons.

The etelia is just a trophy, as sylvii said earlier. It is just for looks more than anything else. I tried to take mine out to the arena to level her up a bit, and she could only beat a lvl 1. Couldnt even beat the level twos. No GP on her opponets, should have been easy for her. She has some tactics that will be helpful, but they are also found in other species. My suggestion is for those of you who want a strong pet, it's best to go to a good breeder or hunt the auctions. For those of you who just like the etelia for its looks it's easier to make a custom skin.

It would be a bit strange for developers to adjust gameplay to the level suitable for occasional players or people who play very little :)... On the introduction of this event (even two times as I recall) it has been said that this is high-end content.

I think it's hard and demanding, but it lasts untill spring, so technically even a beginner, with dedication, should be able to get at least 1 etelia by the end of this event. There's plenty of time to work on it. Nobody says that we should always get a kami/unique on the first day of the event.

Easy to qq... I'm actually grateful for events, as I think they aren't frequent at all. I totally agree that deviants for other breeds are long-due :). More events and more action on this site would be nice :P.

But anyways... Etelias have really cool lore! It's such a shame that they are seasonal pets - I'd love it, if they were introduced as a high-demanding regular pet (as in - tundra available all year-round). Does anyone know if GPs will be possible to make with Etelias?

Makes me wonder if there will be 4 seasonal pets, with desert/firelands only available in summer XD.

TL;DR - Can't please everyone. Etelias are hard, but cool :P (pun intended).

I'm guessing since there are only three seasonal kami, that spring will be excluded to give us time to recover, since the Tundra event ends right before spring begins.

I very much doubt that things like GP, the use of Pink Fish Eggs, and gene inheritance will factor into Etelias at all, since they seem to reproduce asexually by visiting the birth island. I also don't think there will be any gestation time; the Etelia will simply disappear, leaving two seeds to produce two other Etelia with randomized genes, the only difference being the possibility of getting black ones.

That's my theory, at least. We'll see in a month when people's Etelias start to reach maturity.
