When Brairfrost started getting Tumblekit to safety, I was very relieved and continued my death-dance with the fox. I had almost clawed it's ear when it suddenly spoke. After it yelled "STOP!" I leapt out of the way, positioning myself in a way where the fox would have to get past me to get Tumblekit. "Why should I stop?" I spat, my hackals raised and my fur standing on end, "What do you want?"

The she-fox thought for a moment. Finally, she frowned. “I guess you don't have to, I have nothing to make you listen to me. As for what I wanted. I recently moved in, and I've been through a lot,” she whined, flattening her ears as if remembering something bad.

“What kind of things?” Tumblekit rudely piped up.

But the vixen just looked at him with her Amber eyes. If I was a cat, I'd be purring. I can't believe it. This must be what it's like to be a mother. I'll note that. “Well, it's not fun to recall, so I'll sum it up. Twolegs, a rabbit-brained male, and I fear I might have kits. Please, just let me stay here for a while, I won't bother you!” Her eyes suddenly grew wide and desperate. “I'll do anything! I-I'll spy, I'll give you prey, anything but leaving!”

OOC: Not that I'm telling you what to do, but fun fact, in my fanfic, she works for the main clan in exchange for prey. She was friends with most, enemies with others, especially the cat whose father was killed by a fox. Then she had kits, and stopped working for them for a while. Her kits grew up, asked why she worked for them and wasn't being driven away. Her eyes clouded, tears threatening to spill, and she said simply,“For a favor.” Throughout her entire life, she keeps having flashbacks. PM me if you want to hear the full story.

I looked in suprise at the fox. She - oh poor thing!, I thought, my kind, sympathetic side coming into play. "We are warriors, not fox-brained - oh sorry, you're a fox! I mean mouse-brained canibles. We have a healer that could help you if you have pups. But foxes are tricky creatures and I am not sure if I can trust you fully..." I thought for a moment. Dewstar might not appreciate me leading a fox right into camp so I asked Brairfrost, "Brairfrost, I'm sure you understand some of this fox's pain, you are a mother. I do not want to put the camp in danger by leading the fox there," I shot an apoligestic glance at the creature beside me, "So can you please take Tumblekit back to camp and direct Dewstar to come here? He should be the one to make this decition. I'll stay here with our friend."

“No!” The fox, Scarlett, winced as she shot forward. She glanced at the long scar along her side, it had re-opened, and blood quickly trickled from it. Pain flew into Scarlett's eyes. “Okay, take me to your camp, but after I heal, Im coming here. Oh, I hope the kits are okay with this wound continuing to open,” she growled as an afterthought.

StunPaw walked around camp protectively, occasionally stopping to stand in front of the nursery entrance, and check the kits. She felt that something big was going to happen, and if it was going to turn bad she wanted the kits to be protected. She had been doing this since TumbleKit left the camp, and it was clear that she would not take kindly to anything that could hurt anybody.

As Dewstar appeared out of the forest he reacted as any cat would when they saw a fox. "Oh Dewstar! I was just looking for you! This fox...well, it wants to go to camp because," I flicked my tail towards her wound, "She's hurt and needs healing help. She may also be expecting kits... I wanted you to make the decition of taking her in or not." I stood, my ears pricked, and awaited my leader's reply.

Dewstar narrowed her eyes, but the rest of her body relaxed. “Fine. Mossheart, you and I will escort this fox to camp. Briar frost, I need you to take Tumblekit to camp, then get Daisyleaf. She went looking for herbs by the BreezeClan border.”

Dewstar then pushed her shoulder against Scarlett, supporting her as they started to walk back to camp.

I nodded my head, "Of course Dewstar!" I bounded to my leader's side as we walked back to camp. It was hard to smell the fresh fox scent so close and not tense up.

The three safely made it back to camp, and Daisyleaf rushed over at Dewstar's call, and started to dress the wounds. Dew star told Scarlett she could sleep in the clearing, where everyone could see her, just in case.

Mintkit watched Scarlet from within the nursery. She found the fox interesting, but wasn't entirely sure why she was there. She looked around to make sure that no one was looking, and left the nursery. She walked up to Scarlet curiously, and gently nudged her. "Are you okay? Are you going to stay here?" she asked curiously.

I sat outside the warrior cat den, looking out at camp. My main point of focus was the fox lying in the middle of the clearing. I watched Mintkit run up and poke Scarlett with her nose. I tensed up slightly, but relaxed when I saw the kindness in the fox's eyes as she answered whatever the kit had asked her. I was starting to like this fox, in fact, it would be weird to attack a fox ever again.
