Finally got all the crystaline ices I needed and she's growing

but she has perfect genes, it will be a shame to lose her after breeding (if that happens).

Good news (everyone) is that it should spawn on other islands normally, if you didn't collect it. I also couldn't get the first one I found due to particularly strong guardian in front of it :). My Etelia came from the second snowflake ^^.

... If that was the case, what is to stop us from not picking it up until 2+ of their pets are on an island with the Snowflake showing? Or is there a block for this, and whaqt the only once was referencing?

After I collected that second snowflake I didn't see any other, so I guess they stop spawning after you pick one.

As for picking 2+ at the same time - I don't know. Maybe, technically. Probably there is a block, otherwise it's an exploit - it was clearly stated that we're intended to pick only one ;). So I quit trying on the first one, it was engaging one of my best pets, so I didn't want to waste it only for the sake of that information ;P.

Does anyone know the best type of pet and the best genes it should have to get to the higher levels and beat the etelias? I have the lykos and the pure snow, but only one crystalline ice :/

My drake could barely get past level 3. I must be doing something wrong.

Pet's that are Gp3, have something like acid attack, fire breath, lightning, hardly any normal genes and not one negative do pretty well. Dodge and stun genes are defianatly useful as well.

Any pet with song of peace can get to higher levels by just using the song on the guardian that blocks the portal, but if you found a snowflake or etelia it probably wouldnt be able to handle it.

I've used the SOP on Etelias three times and never got any crystllline ice.  So, I'm thinking you have to actually fight the thing.  Anyone else find out different? 

When you use the song to beat an etelia you do not get a snowflake. You are pretty much asking it to kindly move instead defeating it and proving your strength, the latter deserving a crystalline ice (that's my reasoning behind it).  Luckily I found that out on the first day so I didnt repeat that mistake, and made sure to mention it in the mini guide.

I must try buy one somewhere. My unicorns with counterstrike and fragrance aren't winning against etelias ;_;

I had the same problem initially. If you battle manually you can see which attack works best for which opponent. My most successful uni has solid horn, but the harder guardians and etelias are almost always beaten by rush or sometimes blow (him: http://beastkeeper.com/pet/692083 ; I have 53 Crystalline Ice at the moment and he's the pet that won about 95% of that lol. He doesn't have perfect genes).

You diffinitely are:

First off, it's better to switch to manual combat after you lose once.

Second, due to the drakes' genes, it's better to use Bite or Blow, and hope for the best.

You should be able to get to around 8-10 this way, w/ little to no problems.

You could only get each drake once; the game did't allow you to get more.

Why does the Etelias gender show as neutered? Is there a chance the the Etelia could be male? And will we find out when they are 10 years old (30 days)? 

On another note; I have 39 lykos eggs and nothing to do with them. Are there going to be any new colours, patterns or genes?

Etelias are neutered probably because they breed by themselves, and are asexual(self breeding)

And as to the second question, I don't believe there will be new colors or patterns. The skin charts are 6 by 5, so the Lykos skin chart is full.
