Yep. I wouldn't dare to try until I got both Drakes. When the event begun it didn't show pumpkin icons below drakes and items so I had the same idea as you about the exchange system. Only now you can see Hell pumpkin icon below items. Shame, but if that's developers' decision then so be it.

I have lots of doom pumpkins in baby form with more on the way. Currently willing to trade them at a 1 to 5 ratio of doom pumpkin for hell pumpkins. Anyone?

Willing to lower the ratio if you are willing to exchange many hell pumpkins for doom pumpkins at a time.

Anyone able to guess at the rate of orthrus to islands?  I've explored at least fifty islands today, and I've gotten 16 pumpkins (with two or three battles that I didn't win, and thus did not get a pumpkin from).  

I've got plenty of doom pumpkins, but I'm having a hell of a time getting the hell pumpkins.  :/  If anyone wants to swap some, let me know.

Man, I have some great dragons and there making the Orthrus really easy to beat.

I now have exhange offers up for my doom pumpkins. One yellow fish egg per 2 doom pumpkin. Price is firm, will not trade them for anything else besides an abosultly amazing pet.

through a lot of explores and time I've found a some new information- there is a "biome of the day". What I mean by this is that every day a different biome will have all your hell hounds. yesterday for me it was the jungle, the day before it was the grasslands and today it was the desert. Send out two explores in each biome and then try a thrid if you haven't figured it out by then. Your biome of the day will give you 5/6 explores succesful generally and it should be a lot easier to get the hell drake. I hope this information is true and helpful- I've used it myself and I'm doing really well. 

Not sure if I'm interpreting this wrong but are we meant to get doom pumpkins from doing the daily quests?

I'll check tonight because I've done 4 today but I'm fairly sure that I've done more quests than I've got doom pumpkins.

You get Doom pumpkins only for the gold quests.

I've noticed something similar, but I stuck to random after I found a hound in a different map on the same day. Managed to get my drake yesterday, and my strategy was to use that wonderful item known as a Travelling Magician's Invite, several dozen energy flow cards, as well as exhausting my sanctuary and a lot of my pets, even the lower leveled ones. To be honest, it wasted a lot of potential resources from the islands, but I was in a rush for time. Just leave the islands without the hounds, and go after the ones that do in the shortest route. It netted me around 30 pumpkins within the day and a couple of doom pumpkins if I'm lucky with the temples, taking note of the energy regen timings.

Just knew that for tomorrow gold quest you will need Throdama with available Warrior pheromone. Good luck with doom pumpkins, everyone.

Oh, I finally got my Doom Drake and when my bad luck turned, it was quite easy :) Now I'm going after hell pumpkins after all and with happines I didn't give up!

I have few more doom pumpkins still coming. Now the changing ratio seems to be about 1:2 (doom:hell ) so if someone is interested in changing, please pm to me. I'll be happy to change my doom pumpkins to hell pumpkins 1:2.

I have several questions:

1) Are drakes breedable?

2) Can I change sex of a drake?

Got my Doom Drake, 40 more Hell Pumpkin's and I have my Hell Drake!.  I had a few extra doom I traded back when they were 1.5, I ended up selling the others as I should be good on getting the remainder of my Hell pumpkins in the time left (and the silver went to buy a few 50's to help with the Hell pumpkins gathering).

As far as island biome, I have found them with equal amount of sucess on any, so I just leave it at random and go.  RNG is what it is.

I ran into a fertility shrine with my Doom Drake while exploring, and got the response that it was infertile.

i have my first kami now i fi can just hog another 90 hell pumpkins cause traded them for dooms i will be very happy i will pay 3k for a hell pumpkin pm with offer negotiations possible

Thank you so much for this advice!  I tried this today and found exactly twice as many Hell Pumpkins as I had been averaging.
