Best way to get the doom pumpkins is breeding Cockatrices; if you breed 6 a day starting today, you'll have enough before the timer runs out. Though if you don't have any, battlefield, if you can hold onto the spot for 10s of hours, and quests, though that depends on luck.

Of course that requires you to have the right genetics.

I wound up crafting most of my doom pumpkins, but most people probably don't have 200+ mutagen laying around.

My bad luck.. 10 still lagging islands and one hell of a pumpkin. I think I give up with hell dragons, There is no way to me clear 1000 island inten days, I don't have time for that. 

I have fought about ten guardians and had only one pumpkin for them, so I think it's a rare drop. Now trying to breed few cockatrices or dragons with desired abilities and loot some mutagen. There was no golden quests for me this morning but maybe I'll get few on my way,

If you trade doom pumpkins for hell pumpkins, the ratio seems to be 1:5 right now. So it would probably be easiest for you to breed and trade doom pumpkins to those who are finding a lot of hell pumkins in explore but don't have any space to breed for doom pumpkins

okay here's some information I've gathered from explores-

Jungle explores- 4/5 pumpkins and a double pumpkin on one of those explores. If you're having trouble finding hell pumpkins then I suggest that you do each biome five times and see which explore biome works best for u. The beast temple is about every other for doom pumpkins- I don't know about you guys but that's what I got. I will be able to provide extra pumpkins soon if anyone needs extra. 

My symurgh is watching the grass grow in the grasslands :< Lag is horrible in my side at the moment and I'm just 10 Hell pumpkins away, urgh. The good thing is that we have an extray day.

Also, I been having luck with Beast temples around past 5:00 game time (both finding them and getting pumpkins). It might be coincidence, but yesterday I got 4 temples in a row giving me Doom pumkings, today 3, ... if only my lag would stop maybe I could get more.

I'm mostly relying on crafting myself. I've only gotten 3 Doom pumpkins from about 10 temples and I've been having terrible luck with quests - only get one gold a day and so far I've had to ask around to see if someone could lend me the required pets... But I've only got 8 dooms to go, after I start crafting, which is great. And 55 Hell pumpkins. 

yeah, all biotopes are simillar probably, the first day I was finding hell dogs mostly in grasslands. speaking about luck - today 17 islands and not even one hell dog. although I always have such bad luck with explore and event items... 

Looking for doom pumpkins and only have three! If you have extra let me know and I'll make a deal!

lol, I got a theory, where they appear in a random biome at a certain time, for a certain duration.

Anyways, I still have around 5~7 Doom pumpkins, though 5 of those are 'tied' down at the moment, being baby cockatrices and all; I can breed some more, so if anyone is still looking for Doom pumpkins send me a message, with offers.

Good theory :P. I was thinking something similar, like a certain amount of hellhounds, reseted every hour or "x" time, so the more people are grinding - the harder it is to find one. It would fit perfectly to the circumstances and would prevent event items from becoming too common. Am I right? I guess we will never know, but it makes a lot of sense to me XD.

I was a bit disappointed when I discovered doom pumpkins can't be exchanged for event items. Now I also have a bunch of doom-yielding pets... only it's dragons for me. I guess getting Doom Drake won't be that much harder (than Hell Drake) for people who don't have many pets/squads etc :P.

I've noticed that I start to find more hell pumpkins after I've already explored twenty islands.  I have no idea if this is due to random chance, to the time at which I tend to accomplish the feat, or to something about the actual number of islands.

So you really can't exchange the doom pumpkins for items from the shop? That's too bad. The shop should allow you to exchange both, but prioritize the hell pumpkins as payment. Otherwise people will be left with a bunch of useless doom pumpkins at the end of this event.
