Standing in front of Mayumi's home were two unfamiliar enforcers, standing guard so that no one could enter or leave the stone structure.

"What in the name of Darkfire!  Let me through!" she exclaimed.  She ran right between them and into Mayumi's home.  "I demand to know what's going on here!" she said.

Inside, Mayumi was on laying on the floor hold the broken remians of the wooden figure as a third enforcer was beating on her. "We take commands from no one but our human masters," the enforcer saidturning to see Goldenscale, his eyes a blank pearl white, "This useless beast trespassed on our mester's land and must be punished."

"Something isn't right about these three. Something seems to be controling them," Tieral said as a roar of pain came through the door, "Don't worry about the two at the door, Metraz and I will take keep them off your back."

(Oh, no.  Those dragons chose a poor choice... they probably won't survive and encounter with her.)

Goldenscale immediately went berserk and attacked the three enforcers.  She bit each of them with the force of a clamp and hit each of them with a paralyzing shock of energy.  She then trapped each of them in a cage of thick rock.  "Don't you dare hurt Mayumi!" she roared.  She shook her head and roared at them, anger clearly present.  "You cursed sons of Darkfire!  I can easily destroy you.  No one comes here and gets away with hurting anyone.  You are all stupid creatures that understand nothing!" she growled.  It would take an army to keep her from destroying them now.

"A crime commited deserves punishment. You will be dealt with in time, but for now you win," they said in unison before fading from the cages, their auras dissappearing with them.

"You just became enemies with the worst creature in the world.  I will find you all and I will tear each of you limb from limb and make it as painful as possible." she growled.  She was shaking from pure anger, but calmed down.  She then went over to Mayumi and put her hands over the broken doll.  Using what remained of her magic, she fixed the doll to where it looked like nothing had happened and healed as many of Mayumi's wounds as possible.  "Are you ok?" she asked, her body shaking slightly.

"What did I do to deserve this," Mayumi asked herself, unaware oof the repairs Goldenscale had done, staring at the black mass spread srcoss the floor.

"You didn't deserve it..." she said quietly.  She then looked at the black mass on the ground and wondered what it was.  'Did I kill something?' she thought.  

"No, that's just the cake I had prepared for Chiei's birthday. I make one evey year on this day for my visit of this month," Mayumi said inbetween deep breaths and tears, "I used the last of my baking materials for it."

"If you tell me what ingredients you need, I can go get them..." she said quietly, nuzzling her.

"Just the plain recipe for a cake: flour, eggs, vanilla, butter, sugar, milk, and black food coloring. It won't be any  use though, I've already gotten my monthly supply of non-meat food items. Everyone is only alloud so much of each supply, even the council members" Mayumi said laying her head down and pulling the wood doll close to her chest no caring that she had just layed her head in the mess on the floor, "How can I keep a promise to protect, when I can't even protect myself?"

Goldenscale got up and left, running out the door.  She grabbed her bag first and flew to a village a couple miles away.  She shape-shifted into a young girl and walked into the village.  There, she used what coins she had and bought the ingredients Mayumi needed.  Placing them carefully in her bag, she flew back to the cave.  "Here, I hope I got enough." she said.  There were times at night when she had gone to the human village to observe, and soon she figured out how to trade in certain plants to get what currency they had.  She of course read on of the humans books on medicine and had traded those herbs for the money she use to buy the ingredients.  "It's not to late to start over." she said, laying the bag on the floor and laying next to Mayumi.

Taking the ingredients, Mayumi started making another cake, while trying to hum the song she was humming ealier between breaths.

Goldenscale went into a corner and lay down there, trying to completely calm herself from the insane amount of anger she felt for the enforcers.  While she did so, she watched Mayumi make the cake.

Once Mayumi got the mixture into a pan, she placed in the metal vented box, and put it into the fireplace. After lighting the fire, she returned to holding the wood figure, letting her emotions take control as she layed down against the counter.
