Goldenscale brought the hatchling close to her chest and cradled her.  "I hope that she can live though it.  I know how hard it is, but..." she trailed off.

"I will guard and assist her while you are gone. Without a doubt, she will eventually need someone to talk to who can understand what she is saying. I will make sure she remains sane and alive," he said, looking towards the door Mayumi went through, "She will eventually come off the suicide risk part of depression, but until then, she has decided to suppres it. Once she's decided to stop taking the potion, she'll need as much support as she can get. Tomarow afternoon, before you leave, I would suggest gathering all you enforcers to ive a proper plan for what needs to be done during yhour absence."

"Then I need not say anything else about it then," he said with a nod. "I wish I could go with you on your journey, but I know I can't have everything y way. This is something you and Ahnah have been chosen to do, and who am I to argue with the strongest spirit of nature," he said, sitting beside Goldenscale, "I can only wish you the best of luck."

"You will never be a burden to me, not even if uf something caused you to loose several limbs," he said, nuzzling Goldenscale, "So long as I know you are OK, I can rest peacfully at night."

As Tieral talked, Falinx started to purr from the attention she was getting.

"Like I said, you will never be a burden to me. Should you become sick and I have to take care of you, I would gladly do so till I am no longer in need. When I said I would do anything for you, I meant it," he said, "No matter how much of an acual burden you  become for whatever reason, I will never see you as a burden."

"Thank you for being yourself despite your change in position,"he said, returning the gesture, "Too many people let the power consume who they are. I'm glad you haven't."

Letting out another yawn, Falinx curled up tighter before her purring slowly died as she fell asleep.

"Yet, there are people who completely change who they are when they come to power. Reading some of the old reports about the council members, those that had been cut from the council the otehr day had been good people at one time. Their positions and power corrupted their minds," he said, "At least we have the members who haven't fallen to such corruption. Maybe now the council will function and react better with the corrupted members gone."

"I wont let them bother us. If they try, I can push them back now that they are no longer part of the council. They no longer have that protection, and they must obey the same rules and regulations as everybody alse," he said, "If they seek revenge, it will only be a matter of time before they mess up and get caught doing something they shouldn't."

"Mayumi, are you home,"someone asked, muffled by the door they were knocking on.
