"I have no clue. I will however change it if need be." Frost replies.

"Alright, what would your biggest worry por fear be," the same person asked, jotting down the first answer.

I wake up "sorry about that" I say and smooth down my scales, trying to look dynifyed.

"Us not being able to grow into a greater community."

I sit down and look around, note to self, never get in magic ranges.

"You just need to learn to control the energy. Once you do that, you can regulate the amount of stored energy," Mayumi said, looking up from the eggs, "You'd have to look for a pyromaancer to teach you, but those are the most common type of mage."

"where can I find one?"

"That's amazing..." she said.  Even though she was small for her age, she couldn't believe she was that small at one point in her life.  She purred.

"Just about anywhere in dragon sociaties. There's several in the cave. The most notable is the smith," Mayumi said before turning back to the eggs and Goldenscale.   "It is amazing, especially when you consider that even Great Mother Opus and Lord Valdren Flrion came from such a small begining. It just proves that no matter the sizee of the dragon, they all start out the same, small, defensless, and young," she said, wrapping her tail arounf the eggs and lifting them for a moment to let the embers cool before setting them back down, "While it is possible to speed up their development, I don't have the materials to do so, and I wouldn't want to take the risk involved."

"Why would anyone want to speed up the prossessm anyways?" she asked.

"Sometimes there are conditions or illnesses that need the prossess to be sped up to allow the hatchling inside to live. When compared to death, the possibility of a small deformation is more than an even trade," she said, watching as Alekai looked over the eggs from his place on Goldenscale's head, "Without the threat of war or pestlence, I have no reason to speed up the development."

"What could speeding up the process do exactly, in terms of things that can go wrong?" she asked.

"Just about any birth defect is possible. Anything from missing limbs to brain issues. They could have it as complex as a defective immune system, or as simple as a missing claw. It's a last resort method, and for very good reasons. It's among the several methods that the  desperate use to have children," she said, "I have one such method stored away, but I hope to never need to use it."

"Yes, there are several mthods. Most of them have the possibility to harm the user or their hatchlings, but there are a few methods that have no dangers at all. The one I have is one of those. It was a gift from Lord Kelan Flarion after I led the final raid in a war against a powerful necromancer who had enslaved countless souls in his time," sshe said, walking over to a trunk and pulling out a small golden box out and returning to the nest, "Using it would guaranty the mother would bear the maximum number of offspring in her next clutch. so far, I have had no need or wish to use it."
