"To some degree yes.  Do you not want me to go?" she asked.

"I'm afraid the council might try to use you, but in the same token, they may see you as equal. I guess it's because you remind me of Chiei in a way. I want to protect you, but you are your own person, no one else can command you," Mayumi said sticking the syringe in a few more places, injuecting more of the numbing agent, "They owe you a favor, and that alone should be enough to protect you from their ways."

Goldenscale remained quiet for a couple seconds.  "I look up to you as if you were a parent.  Since I never had parents, I think of both you and Frost the same way as a child would." she said quietly.  "Though I may not act like it, I'm still only a child... That's sort of why I've been asking so many questions..." she said.  She closed her eyes as she spoke.

"You're a child in body, but not mind. You probably have more survival skill than anyone else inside this cave. You had to learn fast or you would have perished. Please don't look up to me as a parent though. I could neveraccept such a title after what happened to Chiei," Mayumi saidas the markings returned to her skin and grabbing hold Goldenscale'sinjured leg, "I'm not going to lie,this will hurt a lot, but the numbing agent will take the edge off and make it bearable." Focusing so that the marking moved to her arms and hands. There was an audible snap when the weak spot in the bone broke. Realigning the bone, she applied the brace around Goldenscale's to keep it in place. "That should do it," she said stepping back to examine the brace.

Goldenscale didn'e move a muscle, not even to flich.  She knew the imense pain, but it didn't do anything to her mentally.  "I guess that's a child's mistake then for not realising that sooner." she said.

"No, you just have no way of knowing how I think or feel. I just can't ever see myself as a parent or parent figure after what happened to Chiei. I just feel I don't deserve to be called a parent. There's no fault on your part," Mayumi said handing Goldenscale a bottle containing the reproduced healing potion, "Maybe some day I can forgive myself, but for now lets focus on the events at hand."

Goldenscale stared at the potion before drinking a couple drops.  

"While you finish that potion, I'm going to go make us some lunch. A little food will do us all some good," Mayumi said before exiting the room.

Goldensdcale sighed before she finished off the potion.  Once when was done, when laid her head on her paws and stared at a wall.

About an hour later, Mayumi came back in the room carrying a tray holding a large steak and a variety of vegies. "Here, I'm not much of a cook, but it should be edible," she said setting the tray by Goldenscale then looking over her leg, "Looks like the potion has sped the healing process. Your leg should be usable again by the end of the week at this rate."

"Alright, thank you." she said.  "What is this beside the veggies?" she asked.

"Just a simple deer steak cooked with a little salt and pepper. Is there something wrong with it," Mayumi asked, "I can always try makeing something else if you dont want that."

"I just didn't know what it was.  I used to have to dine on very small animals and very rarely did I get meat then.  I just have never seen meat this big..." she said quietly.  She cut a chunck out of the steak and took a bit.  It was delicious, so she at that as well as the veggies.  "This is delicious." she said.

"I see, well I'm glad you like it. I don't get to cook for others very often. Most of the time, I'm here alone," Mayumi said with a smile, "By the looks of the barrier, it'll be done sometime withing the next hour."

"Which means I'll then be going to the meeting soon then." she said after eating the last of the food.
