"I'm so sorry for not listening to you and your mother," he said pulling away from Mayumi, his memories begining to come back to him, "I should never have let my anger get the best of me. I should have known the cave wall was unstable."

Goldenscale tried not to listen to their conversation since she thought it was rude, so she went looking through her chest again.

After about an hour of talking in the language Mayumi had used earlier, the spirit stood as it started to fade. "I can finally rest in peace knowing that you don't hate me for what happened," he said before turning to walk over to Goldenscale, "Thank you for bringing me here. I had been searching for so long I had lost my way, fogetting who I was and my family. I can finally rest."

"You are very welcome." she said with a smile.

"Maybe we'll meet again some day under a more peacful world. I must go now and join my ancerstors," he said, "Never let anyone change who you are." Once he finished speaking, his outline faded leaving only the wisp as it slowly shrank and disappeared.

mayumi had started crying softly as she watch him disappear, a faint smile on her face.

Goldenscale began to hum, closing her eyes.  She then spread her wings out behind her and curled her tail up.

"Who was that mom," Alekai asked , still looking where the wisp had been, "Why is Mayumi crying?"

"That was your great-grandfather.  Mayumi is sad because he had to leave." she said.

"It's not the he had to go, it's that he's finally found peace. We lost him when I still had my first mate, Kor. He had got mad at Kor and tried to punch him but struck the cve wall instead, causing it to colaps on him," she said, walking over to pick up Alekai, "We knew he'd become a spirit rather than passing on, but we could never find him, but now he can restknowing we forgive him."

"There's your answer, Alekai." she said.  

"What was that language you were speaking to him in," Alekai asked looking up to Mayumi.

"That would be the native language of my species, vital creatures and, most spirits. It's called Elysion," she said nuzzling Alekai, "It is common tradition among my kind to speak to the dead in Elysion. It's to respect their loss in life."

Goldenscale smiled and nodded.  "Elysion...  Weird but cool name..." she murmured.

"Yes, and hard to speak without being raised hearing it. A single word could have hundreds of meaning depending on when you place the stresses and breaks, but the same word will never be said twice in a row," she said, setting Alekai back down and tossing his ball for him to chase, "Back on Valenth, I had only used it to talk to wyre and wyra."

Frost made dinner in the back and served stuffed turkeys and a side of apples and pears.

"Looks like I got back just in time," Tieral said once he got back, seeing the food, "The council has agreed to excuse your year of absence Goldenscale. They also said to stopo by the council building before you leave, they have something they want to give you for the journy."
