"He might not take too well to the idea of Goldenscale having a natural child at her age," Tieral said giving Alekai a light pat on the head, "Considering niether one of us are quick old enough to reproduce, I wouldn't blame him for reacting badly to the idea. Any parent would."

"Yes.  And the rage of a parent isn't one that should be seen..." she added.

"Got yourselves a little friend there, or are you two just talking to eachother" Metraz asked as he entered the cave, "Either way, that's a intersting subject to talking about."

Upon hearing Metraz, Alekai ducked back down into GOldenscale's arm.

"It's alright, Alekai..." she cooed.  Her cheeks were a light pink in embarrassment at him overhearing what they were talking about.  "This is Alekai." she said, turning towards Metraz.

Alekai looked out to Metraz then gave a small wave.

"I understand the conversation now. Cute little thing he is though," Metraaz said when he saw Alekai, "Anyways, Talia said that there was something you had shown her and Tieral yesterday that you wanted to show me as well. She wouldn't say what it was, only that I'd have to come to you to find out."

"That's right.  Follow me!" she said running out the cave entrance.  She was still carrying Alekai, but she was holding him to her chest with her wings.  She soon went through the familiar force field and waited for everyone else.

"So what is it you wanted to show me," Metraz asked once he and Tieral walked through the force field.

"This place feels familiar," Alekai said as he looked around.

She then showed her flower.  "This is what I wanted to show you.  This little flower keeps me alive, keeps my connection to nature, and keeps me the way I am now.  Before the moon grew his flower, I had been attacked by another dragon, and I was bound to die afterwards.  Several of my bines hadsnappd in the fight, my spine included.  This flower healed any wounds and mended any broken bones.  Without this flower, I would die."

When Goldenscale showed the flower, Alekai's crystal began to shine brighter.

"I'm sure Tieral and Talia have already said this, but with the connection you have with this flower, we will protect it with the same vigilance we provide for you," Metraz said after placing a simple barrier around the flower, "Talia was right not to tell me in the cave."

"Yes they both said the same thing, but I put a force-field around the cave as well as the surrounding forest, so now no evil spirits can come through.  Can't say the same for living beings, but the cave for sure is protected for anythijg with the intent to harm or take anything." she said. 

"I know. I was there for you to put the barrier up. Aimée and I both were there with the eggs. It was worth helping to protect the eggs and everyone else," he said, "Talia and I are still wondering what the rest of the council was going on about this morning when they said you made a compromise."

"What compromise?" she asked.  'I think they're talking about that rule...' she thought.  But she wasn't sure.

"They said that there would be a change in the enforcer rules in exchange for the barrier," he said, "They also said that thopse of use who already have a council member to protect will be informed by them what the change was."

"Enforcers no longer have to hide whatever feelings, such as love, they have from the council member they are protecting." she stated simply.

"I'm guessing Tieral had something to do with you finding the rule," he said looking over to Tieral who was smiling, "He's always been against the rule. It was made with good intentions, but it was poorly executed."
