"What can't your know and hatch your young?" she asked.

"It is possible to plant an egg in another leupak, but the one planting the egg can't hatch a healthy quaggy inside their own body. The egg needs a second set of DNA to complete its own sequence. The eggs only contains half the genetics of the parent leupak like any other creature's young would before fertilization," he said drawing out a piece of DNA split down the middle creating two strands, "The genetics of the quaggy work just like those of produce by normal reproduction in other creatures."

"But why couldn't the egg gather the amount of DNA strands from the host?" she asked.  Once again she was asking too many questions.

"That's the thing. The egg has to gather the second strand from the host to even have a chance at living," he said, "The host acts as the second parent to the egg so to speak."

"Huh..." she said.

"If you'd like to know more about the whole process, you'll have to find a leupologist. Now, what kind of learner are you," he asked gathering up all the parts.

"I don't know...  I just learn..." she said.

"Well, how did you learn in the past? Was it mostly trial and error or listening and watching," he asked pulling a folding table out from the metal box and setting it up.

"Both..." she said.  Most of the time she just did it and didn't fail, but she did learn both ways.

"OK then, we'll start by putting together each mechanism. Varani are like multi-layer puzzels. You have to fit each part into the right spot then fit each mechanism together," he said sorting the parts into piles for each mechanism, "UNless you work for MIRACLE, there's no other way to learn how to put one together than to try until you get it right. It helps that the pieces will only fit together in one way."

Goldenscale smiled and sat down in front of the pieces.  She glanced over each of them and began to mentally piece them together.  Once she had fitted the pieces together mentally, she began to physically pit it together.  She hadn't had a good pizzle like this in forever.  She worked with precision and gentleness.

Pulling up a tab from the center of the table, Mossed devided the table space into two equal pieces. "Just for reference, I going to have one of my varani be disassembled," he said before lletting out a series of unfamiliar sounds, calling one of the varani over. In mere moments, he hand the varanius disassembled and devided into the same number of piles, pocketing the crystal. Picking up that parts from the pile mirroring the one Goldenscale started with, he began slowly fitting the parts together once again. "It was time for this one's maintenance checkup anyways."

Goldenscale didn't hear what Mossed said because she was so involved in working on the varani.

"I might just let you keep that one," he said once he had all the mechanisms put together and set out for GOldenscale to see, "If you want to keep it, I'll need to make a crystal specifically for you."

Goldenscale finished her.  "Maybe I can make one.  If you can tell me the attributes of what the crystal needs, maybe I can make one.  I've already probed to be different from every dragon here, so maybe I can do this." she said.
