Sticking his  tounge into the sand, three objecst seemed to pass through into the warm sand. "Thanks, I hate wasting possible lives like this, but i have too many people that rely on me to be risking my life with these," he said once he pulled his tounge from the sand revealing four claws at the tip, "'I'm sorry you had to see that though."

Goldenscale remained silent for a second.  "At least you're alright." she said.

"True," he said pulling a small barbed object from the sand, "To think something so small could cause such pain and trouble."

"What is that?" she asked.

"This is a leupak egg. All leupaks produce them in cycles of about three months. These barbs hold it in the wound when planted in a host," he said pulling on one of the barbs to show a small hook like protrusion, "They're very unpleasent to have planted in you."

"And it takes how long to hatch?" she asked.  She might not be able to feel the pain if that had happened.  She can't feel pain much, which she despised.

"It take near a week to hatch. From there the quaggy will dig its way out of the host if it isn't removed through sergery," he said placing the egg back into the bucket, "Some leupaks can force the eggs to hatch inside their own body to spit up as a form of attack in desperate time."

Goldenscale looked at it in curiosity.  Who knew this small egg could be so horrifying and harmful?  She shivered slightly at the thought of what they could do.

"hoarafying to think how much damage one of these things could cause should they be used as a weapon rather than to repopulate," he said sitting back down to finish making parts, "I kind of wish there was a way to incubate them without using a host's body, but I don't know what I would do once they'd hatch."

"You could always give them to a Foster parent." she said, picking up an egg.  Could it be possible for her to incubate it just by holding it and raising the temperature around it to the required temperature?

"Mine require being inside a host to hatch like most leupak's. They take half their DNA from the host, and the temperature must not reach over one hundrend thirty seven. The eggs themselves die on contact with air, hence the need for a host," he said guessing Goldenscale's intentions for the egg while he worked, "IN my llife, I've only had one egg hatch. It was on my first cycle, and I learned what pain and suffering they could cause. I've never used a sentient host since."

Goldenscale set the egg down.  "I wonder how the others of your species get by..." she asked in wonder.

"As far as I know, I'm the only one who refuses to cause pain to thinking beings. They'll ask first, but that's against my point. Most of them are civilized, but feral ones tend to be more unforgiving and care not for one's health," he said as her molded the last part, "There are masive groups we call Gigs or houses that all have similar features or goals. For example, House Ros typically deals with business and money and have a golden facet as well and while and gold skin."

"Hmm...." she said.  "Can't your species raise their young themselves?" she asked.

"We can raise the quaggies, but hatching the egg is the one thing we can't do with the quaggy dieing before it has a chance to grow," he said, "Raising the young would be like raising any other sentient creature."
