"I don't know why they chose you. They probably saw something in you no one else can see," she said watching Goldenscale, "Be glad they were here to make you a Firestarter. There are hundreds of things they could have found to fault you or lead you to your demise. They see potential in you that they don't see in anyone else."

She just sighed and put her head on her knees, not knowing how to react anymore.

"If what they have asked you to do is no different than what you've been doing, think nothing of it. They will only  contact you when you contact them first, or  if you start harming nature," she said walking over to Goldenscale and placing a wing over her.

"Life abandoned me until you and Frost found me.  That was just something I did so I had an excuse to live." she said quietly.  Helping others always got her mind off of her own life, so she never thought about herself until now.  She didn't like these thoughts.

"Like you told a few days ago, life is too valuable to throw away. We must always remember that, even when everything seems to be aginst us," she said laying down, "If you ever need someone to talk to, I will always have time to listen."

Goldenscale smiled at Mayumi, the gratitude she felt for her too great to speak.  She curled up next to her, erasing all traces of thought and leaving her mind blank.

Frost fixes tea up. He pours three glasses full and brings it over to them. "Here i thought this might help."

Goldenscale nods her thanks and sips from the glass silently, staring up at the sky blankly.

"Thank you dear," she said taking a glass and letting her whole body relax.

"Your both welcome," he kisses Mayumi's cheek.

Goldenscale set the glass down and began stretching.  Once she had finished that, she connected with the trees and let them show her what's been going on in the forest.  She laid her head back and her breathing became calm but quiet.  

"How did they find this planet," Mayumi asked herself as she sipped on her tea.

Frost didn't know what to do or say but, "I have an idea. Let's play a game."

"Her vital fire probably was a beakon to them." Goldenscale said, though it was the tree speaking.  Goldenscale opened her eyes and glared at the willow.  'I'm not your personal speaker.  She can hear thou just fine.' she told the tree angrily.  She looked at Frost.  "A game?  What kind of game?" she said with interest as she disconnected from the tree.

"Do not be angry at the willow. Anger will only make you more confused than you are," she said before looking to the willow, "I don't see how it could have been a becon. When I had taught Chiei to use the fire, they never came."
