I go exploring before I do gene testing.  That way I have to pay attention to see what special abilities go off.  Makes it a little more interesting and sometimes allows me to save vermillion.

I can sort of guess what genes a pet has from their stats, although I'm not psychic. I just know if it has a boost on hitpoints it's probably Thick Skin, 15 energy it has Tireless Heart, high Costitution it's Steel Bones or Lionheart.

That's how I usually shop for lykos that haven't been researched. I got one from WhiteAura that was one gene away from perfect. :3

Yeah, you can tell a lot from stats, but there are a few things that can be tricky like Ice Breath or Ice Aura that using them in explore can reveal.  Then there are some like Bet Expert that you just plain have to research.

What the point of gambling in the arena if you have to accept the battle??? It's a completely useless and unused feature :c

Managed to breed a black merle gp3 lykos... but it has degen. I am sooooo peeved. Keeping it anyway cos reasons. If only it had ice aura instead of thin skin!

If it's male, you can breed it with my merle female lykos, she has elemental resistance (dominant) and ice aura. Baby is yours :) (also she doesn't have GP but it's leveled to 50).

Mmm, baby will be gp 1, but no biggie. We can try and see.

You can breed the baby with GP 3, and the baby babie with another GP 3 ;)

But you need to wait 1 day, cause she's pregnant now.

But you have to level up to fifty, don't you? Doesn't Gp1 + Gp3 = Gp1?

I accidentally bred another merle, grey this time, but no Ice breath or Steel bones. So I actually LOST a gene. I am such a good breeder. :/

And that's why I quit all my breeding projects two months in. I can never seem to maintain the genes that I'm actually trying to keep ;-; 

Plus, I just lost to arete's squad on the portal. We had the same roll, 41 points!

I don't have a ton of luck there, these days..

Bweee. When Aelisk used to play, no one else ever had the portal. Or the other portal either. She just camped there.

So really I'm not that good. It's not like Wireath is here to utterly destroy me ^_^

I think I've got a winning squad, first fight;  21 to 56!! I'm like yeah I might win!! But than I see the other squads points. My response to my squad... Disband!!

Does anyone think I'll do good with a squad of; 2 gp3 grade 3 warriors and 2 gp3 grade3 scouts?

So, I was feeling bad because I ended up with a bunch of critters in the arena top ten (sorry, arete!), so I was going to cut back and use less even though I like the XP return on the whole thing.  Then I looked and one person had like the top 30 spots (which hey, good on them, I would not have that kind of patience), and my competitive instinct got triggered and I ran a bunch more, and yeah, I'm sorry I'm kind of a jerk.

Poor WhiteAura got like 3 lykos that were almost perfects thanks to Chipmunk, but it didn't happen </3
