How can we get more authority points ?

Will I be able to sell unwanted pets and items to make money ?

Are we still able to get premium items in explore ?

Are there going to be weekly charts or any contest ?

1) There are a few ways to raise your authority.

  • Raising your overall ranking. This one is a major source of authority and depends on your whole gameplay,so it will require a lot of tweaking and balancing.
  • User challenges. You can make a bet with another player. For example, you can bet that your beasts are better hunters or better crafters. Winning a bet will increase your authority while losing may decrease it.
  • Beast contests and sports, similar to exhibitions in BeastKeeper.
  • Authority craft, occasional quests and explore finds (a minor source of authority). For example, you can build a statue of yourself proclaiming the prosperity of your lands and skill of your sculptors.

2) There are will be usual player run auctions and trades where you can sell beasts and items as usual. You can also sell goods in explore (probably this mechanics won't be introduced with the first release, but it is planned). Depending on the state of a current explore region, NPCs will ask you to sell them goods that they need at this moment, and offer a nice payment for that. As players will sell them that goods, the demand for that certain item will decrease as long with the prices, but demand for other goods will grow. For example, an area devastated by a new disease will pay a lot for healing herbs, medkits and potions. A prosperous and thriving area won't be interested in remedies but may happily purchase some art objects.

3) Some of the items will be available in explore as a rare loot, but some won't appear there at all just like in BeastKeeper.

4) There won't be weekly charts, but there will be beast contests and sports that I mentioned in the first item.

Will beasts be able to fall in love with beasts that they cannot have children with? Like a dragon falling in love with a griffin or two female beasts falling in love?

Wingheart, we plan that, though not right from the start. We need to finely test and configure classical relationships first, and only then we will be able to  add alterations to that mechanics. We don't want to end on a server with no breedable couples left :)

I'm really, really excited!

A couple questions.

1. Will there still be a pound?

2. Are you eventually going to create a new species?

3. How long will each eon be?

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

1) No, there won't be a pound.

2) Yes, new species are planned and we already have some concept arts for them.

3) Different eons will have different time. Right now we plan eons to last from 1 to 4 months. We also need to evaluate community reaction and preferences to find out if players like shorter or longer eons and decide on the average eon length.

Will there be a PvP component of this game, like Beastkeeper's Battlefield?

For context, I was just reading some old Battlefield-related threads from around the time it was first introduced, and felt the atmosphere became a little too aggressive for my liking. I'd really prefer PvP to be mostly recreational rather than a means of gaining exclusive items or pets to avoid such confrontations. (The top tier building materials don't seem to be an issue, but having entire species only available through PvP got pretty messy.)

Seconding Sumatra_Echo's prefence that any PvP element not be game critical.

On a related note, how will fights happen? Will they still be turn based with an automatic option or will it be in real time (aka button mashing)? One of the things that attracted me to BK was that I didnt need to be fast to win battles, so I hope fighting remains turn based.

There won't be direct PvP. Competition between players will happen though beast contests and player initiated challenges. A beast may decide to fight or make something unpleasant to its foe, but such interactions can't be initiated or controlled by players, they just happen in background like any other social interactions.

Battle mechanics will be different from BeastKeeper but it still will be turn based. There won't be an automatic option because of its specifics. The same mechanics will be used to fulfill other types of tasks, not only battle. It's hard to explain it in a couple of words.  We're planning a post describing how it works, it will be published in Gameplay Previews section.

Hi, i had a few questions;

1. Will your pets be able to talk to players, like in the turtorial where you battle a male and female beast? If so, how do they?

2. How would you chose which pets to take an exploring party with?

3. Will there be cross-breeds of creatures, such as a mix of Roc and Gryphon?

4. Are there different lanscapes (land, water, air...) that you can travel on?

Will some beasts be able to fall in love with more than one other beast? Either in love triangles or polygamy?

1. Will your pets be able to talk to players, like in the turtorial where you battle a male and female beast? If so, how do they?

Yes, beasts can talk with players, mostly in the form of requests. All requests with possible responses will be available on a single page for convenient handling. New requests will appear as dynamic notifications on the screen, something like "Beast_Name requires your attention!" with a link to request page or with an overlay with request text right on the screen where you clicked it.

2. How would you chose which pets to take an exploring party with?

Depends on what is your purpose for a certain exploration session. There will be beasts who are not fitted for exploration at all, but most of them can be useful in different situations. Food and resource gathering, battling monsters, exploring old ruins, researching anomalies, trying to come to an agreement with NPCs, trading will require different skills and perks.

3. Will there be cross-breeds of creatures, such as a mix of Roc and Gryphon?

No, there will be no cross-breeding.

4. Are there different lanscapes (land, water, air...) that you can travel on?

For now we're working only on travelling by land.

Will some beasts be able to fall in love with more than one other beast? Either in love triangles or polygamy?

A beast can like a few other beasts and have some difficult time choosing between them, but romantic relationships and breeding are possible only with one partner at the same time. Of course, beasts can deicde to leave their current partner and start to look for new relationships, or a beast without a partner can try to win the affection of a beast who has a partner already.

Thanks for the answers! Also, can your beast like another beast from a different player's stables?
