Arka sighed. “Sorry.” She turned and continued to climb by grabbing the next branch up. She kept going until she found a wide enough branch, then shakily walked out onto it.

When she felt the branch start to bend, she stopped. “So we just jump?!” Arka called.

“Um, yeah! I guess...”

Arka worriedly looked down from the branch.

I control if she lands on Frost, but that gave me an idea...

Arka whimpered, and leaned over, jumping off the branch. Arka yelped as her foot slipped and the branch snapped underneath her.

Arka closed her eyes, and groaned as she hit the ground. She checked her scratches before hearing a loud thump.

She turned to see Frost moaning. “Don't worry, I broke the branch's fall,” he growled.

Arka laughed. “That looked like it hurt.”

Frost growled, but began to laugh himself. “I guess it was kind of funny...”

“What now?” Shard called.

Frost stopped laughing. “We go closer. Arka, you can come, since you were the first to smell Spark. Shard, you're the strongest, you can come too. And Willow, you come with. The rest of you watch in case we're in trouble.”

Arka followed Frost down the slope to the camp. They turned, walking around the outer walls of the camp. Arka saw Frost's eyes cloud over, and dark clouds began to cover the sky. Mist slowly descended, and Arka stared. She still couldn't believe that wolves could have powers.

Crow felt a sudden wind tug at his fur, and looked up to see ominous looking storm clouds looming over the camp.

“Frost,” he snarled.

Arka stopped, letting Frost walk past her. She peered through the thick bramble walls of the Shade Pack camp. Arka gasped, seeing Crow standing, howling orders to his packmates. They were either seasoned warriors, or battered omegas. There was no in between, except maybe the mothers and pups. They know we're here!

Arka caught up to Frost. If I tell him, he'll be prepared, but he might make rash decisions...I know I'm freaked out...

Arka walked up to Frost until their paws matched in pace step for step. “Frost, they know we're here, I saw Crow gathering his wolves.”

Frost signaled for the others to stop. “If we attack now, we'll be slaughtered. Willow, send the rest of the wolves here. And take a few of the wolves at camp.”

Arka whined. “Are you sure? The camp will be unprotected.”

“Arka, while Willow gets the wolves by the hill, you get the wolves at camp.”

“But the camp-”

“Arka.” Frost let out a warning growl.

Arka snarled at Frost. “You idiot! You're not supposed to leave camp unprotected!”

“And why do you think you know better than me?” Frost snarled. “I'm leader!”

“Because I've done it before!” Arka snarled. Frost's eyes widnened, and Arka took a step back. “I've done it before,” she murmured.

“Arka, I-”

Arka turned and ran into the forest, heading towards Thunder Pack camp. She burst through the entrance. Elise trotted to her side.

“Are you alright?”

“I'm fine,” Arka growled.

“Do you need some time alone?”

Arka sighed. “I just yelled at Frost for wanting to leave the camp unprotected.”

“He didn't react to that well?”

“I-I told him I knew about it more than he did. I-I've done it b-before,” Arka stammered.

Elise's eyes softened with sympathy. “Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?”

“Not really, but...I had pups.”

“Pups? That's gr-” Elise stopped. “Had.”

“Had. My mate left to hunt, and while he was gone, another wolf came, and...” Arka rushed, but couldn't finish.

Elise whined. “I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked.”

Arka smiled sadly. “I-it's okay. It...feels better now that someone else knows.”

“What were you supposed to do here?”
