"Well, I ;ive about a day's worth of travel from here. The village may seem a bit old fashioned, but we live a peaceful life. We fallow the old ways, and we still have shamans," he said, sitting down as he still tried to get a good look at Ahnah, "They're not expecting me back any time soon seeing as this is my first gathering trip since I broke my legs sseveral years ago.I can wait here till she's confident enough to move around. It would be easier on the both of you if I led the way. I only suggest being ready to keep yourelf warm."

Goldenscale lay down between Ahnah and Aipaloovik when he sat down, covering Ahnah with her wing.  She then listened to him as he spoke.  "I'm sorry you had your legs broken.  How did that happen she asked.  She then laughed nervously.  "That would be wise, though I hope it isn't too cold.  I can barely stand snow as it is.  I cannot hold in body heat worth anything." she said with a frown.

"Well, it happened when a yeti caught me off guard. I was able to escape, but it had already broke both my hind legs by the time i could get away. When I got home, I passed out, and I didn't wake up till several days later with my legs held stiff by splints and supports," he said, resting his head on his paws, "It's taken me this long to get back into shape again. As for keeping warm, I suggest a thick blanket like the one aroundyour neck. Once we get to the village, I can have someone make you some leather armor to keep the heat in."

Hearing a muffled cry from Ahnah, Aipaloovik turned away, obviously uncomfortable with sitting on the side without doing anything.

Goldenscale turned her head to the side when she heard him explain.  "I'm sorry you got attacked, but what is a yeti?" she asked.  She then smiled.  "Well, at least you are well and your legs healed correctly.  I had one of mine broken when I was but a yearling, but it never healed quite right and it caused me to be unable to do a lot.  But then again I was out on my own and couldn't really do anything.  Then the dragons found me and fixed me.  I'm just sorry it took you so long to regain what you had lost..." she said with a frown.  "You don't have to make anything for me, I'll do fine.  I just have to get places faster because I freeze faster." she said with a shrug.  At hearing Ahnah's cry, her ears went back and she put her head in her paws.

"I'l go find something for you two to eat. Knowing your friend there is in heat is clouding my mind, so Ik'll take this as a chance to clear my mind," he said, standing up to leave, "Anything you want me to look for? There's not much in the area, but I can give the land a good look over."

Goldenscale thought it over.  "I don't know  anything in particular that you need to look for.  Maybe some herbs, a few spices and some meat if you can." she said.  "If you can't find any spices or herbs, just try to find some meat." she said with a smile.

"Will do, I'll be back in a litte bit. I can't promise finding any meat at this time, but I'll try," he said before taking to the air and starting out over the land.

"I know him. Aipaloovik Kiaisa. He's a distant cousin of mine. He was but a hatchling when I left though," Ahnah said once she had caught her breath and melted the muzzle, "He probably regocnizes me from my mother if she's still alive. The only real difference between my mother and me is the black strip that runs from her forehead to the end of her tail."

Goldenscale smiled.  "It's fine.  Thank you, Aipaloovik." she said.  She then sighed when he left and put her head in her paws.  "I probably should have treated him kinder then, since he is related to you." she said.

"It's fine, there was no way for you to have known without knowing both of us from the shell," Ahnah said, moving so that the tree was behind her, "I only remember him from scent alone. If he remmbers me at all, it would be from scent as well, but with this ice all over me, it's harder for himto tell."

"He did say that you seemed familiar to him.  He said he was going to wait here until your heat is gone to lead us to his villiage since I told him we would be heading in the direction.  I told him not more, and he knows not of who we are.  He is currently out searching for food, and I told him to search for meat and some spices.  I don't know what you like to eat though." she said, moving her head only to look at Ahnah as she spoke.  She then put her head back on her paws.

"That's probably because of mother. As i said, we do look very similar," Ahnah said, curling up but stull facing Goldenscale, "I prefer to eat plants and herbs since meat doesn't settle well with me. I can eat meat, but not much or I'll get sick."    After a few moments, she took a deep breath as the last wave of pain hit her. "There... The worst of it is past. The pain worst of the pain wis past, and the physical calls have past as well. Once he gets back, we can leave, but at a slower pace than normal as i have to keep a kayer of ice over myself to keep the pheromones from hitting anyone."

"Of course you would." she said with a nod.  Then she would grow something for Ahnah later.  First she wanted to make sure Ahnah would be okay before she left to do anything.  Her ears then went back once more as Ahnah went through the pain again.  "I would rather we stay here and let you rest a day longer to make sure you are well.  We do not have to be there so quickly.  We are only a couple days into our quest, resting one or two more days will not hinder us much." she said.

"I guess so. i'm just too used to doing things as little time as necessary. Being trained as an enforcer will do that to someone," Ahnah said, resting her head on her paws, "We probbably could have stayed in the town a few more days to make sure we had everything we needed. Too late to turn back now though."

After a few minutes, Aipaloovik returned with several bundles of herbs and spices and a small rabbit. "I hope this is enough. I'm not used to hunting. No one in the village eats meat so we don't hunt much other than to get skins and other organic materials," he said, setting everything down by Goldenscale before stepping back away from the two.

"Well, there's nothing wrong with doing things in a hurry.  There's nothing we can do about it since we hadn't thought of this happening, so we might as well enjoy the rest." she said.  She then looked at Aipaloovik when he arrived.  "It is fine.  If anyone's still hungry, I can always grow something." she said.  She then put the herbs in a pile near Ahnah, so she could reach them in case she was hungry.  Goldenscale then sat on her haunches as she began to skin and cut up the rabbit Aipaloovik had gotten them.  Searching her bag a while later, she brought out one of her large leaves and set the meat in it before bundling it up.  She then dug out a pile of dirt and used her fire to dry it and then put the leaves in the heated sand.  She didn't realize how famished she was.  She hadn't eaten anything the night before and the dried ruit didn't stay in her stomach long enough to make the hunger go away.  She then nodded and then curled up in Ahnah's side, closing her eyes a bit.  "Thank you for getting this for us, Aipaloovik." she said.

"The least I could do. We didn't exactly get off on the right foot earlier. It just seemed odd that she wasn't trying to look for a mate. I suppose she has a right to her own body," Aipaloovik said, looking up at the clouds that were gathering, ""It might partly be that I've never had a mate myself."

Watching Aipaloovik, Ahnahtook some of the herbs and began eating. Keeping silent, she wanted to make sure he wasn't going to make any advances on her.
