When they got a good distance from the town, Ahnah sat her bag down with the blanket before releasing her disguise. Giving herself a shake, she picked the blanket and pack back up, carrying them with her wings curled under her belly.

"What was it like growing up for you? I know you grew under the eyes of several other species, but what was it like," she asked, stopping by a tree to rest, "It musst have been a unique experience."

Goldenscale did the same, wrapping her wings around her body after putting the pack on and tying a knot around her neck to keep the blanket on.  "It was unique, though it wsn't the best.  I was often rediculed for my appearance, for being different and for being crippled.  I wasn't able to fit in vyer well, though there were a few creatures that would acept me for who I was.  That and I was always moved around to different families.  I'd have to say that the Gryphons were the only ones that didn't do any of those and accepted me for who I was." she explained, sitting next to Ahnah.

"It seems I wasn't too far off about gryphons. They always seem the most accepting of differences whereever I saw them. They did have minor fights and disagreements to other species, but nothing too drastic.. I'm glad Konoki took you in and treated you as he did," she said with a smile, "I wish I could have  found someone like that when I was about your age."

"That they are.  I'd say that he was my favorite family back then.  But now I love my dragon family even more." she said with a wide smile.  "Maybe there was someone like that when you were young, only you never realized it." she said, trying to be helpful.

"There was only ever one person who accepted me for who I was when I was growing up, but he left the village long before I was old enough to appreciate it. When I left, I tried to find his trail, but I never found him," she said, shaking her head, "When he left, there was no one who would have accepted who I was at heart. I had always been taught to always work hard, but I was also never given the chance to have fun. I wanted the carefree childhood of the other hatchling, but father always took every chance away."

Goldenscale frowned.  "I'm sorry..." she said quietly.  Now she had no idea how to comfort Ahnah.  Her childhood was terrible and her life in general was terrible in the village.  She did put her wing on her, hoping that she didn't need to use words now to comfort her.

"Aside from a few compromises here and there, my life has been much better ever since I left the village. I may not be able to reclaim my childhood, but I can live my life how I like rather than how someone else thinks I should live," she said, leaning into Goldenscale, "Meeting you is probably the best thing to ever happen to me."

"Meeting you, Tieral, Metraz, Mayumi, Frost, and everyone was probably the best thing that happened to me.  Being with Konoki and the other Gryphons was wonderful and was the best thing that happened back then, but now I have so much to be thankfuk for." she said, nuzzling into Ahah's cheek.  "Words cannot describe how thankful I am and how wonderful you all are." 

"Strange how having someone you love and loves you in return can be such a treasure. Most people don't realize they have such a prescious thing. I guess it takes going so long without someone like that to apreciat it," she said, starting to pur, "No words need to be spoken to understand. Some things just can't be explained."

"Yes, it is true.  Love is something not everyone will experience, and it is such a wonderful feeling.  I can't understand how people wouldn't be able to appreciate it." she said, beginning to purr herself.  "And I'm glad some things can be like that." she said.

"When you live your life with it there every day, you begin to passivley ignore it. Kind of like anything else. If you do it every day, you begin to adapt to it. Having gone without someone to return my affection, I will always appreciate you," Ahnah said, "It is the things that must be felt to understand that can't be explained. The world is better off that way."

Starting to stand back up, she stiffed up as if something had knocked the breath out of her before falling back down against the tree.

Goldenscale nodded.  "Love is something that I haven't experienced for very long either, so I'll probably appreciate you and Tieral and Mayumi always." she said with a wide smile?  Watching Ahnah getting up, she was about to get up before seeing Ahnah stiffen up and fall down.  "Ahnah!  What's wrong." she said with a chirp of worry.

"It's fine, I just need to let it pass over. Nothing you need to worry yourself about," Ahnah said between deep breaths, "Just a miss count on days is all. I'll be fine, i just need a few moments to regather myself."

Goldenscale's ears went back.  "Oh." she said.  She then looked at her.  "How about we wait a day or so to make sure it's passed?" she asked, tilting her head.  Of course she was too young to understand things like this, and she knew that, but she still couldn't help but wish there was something she could do to help.

"That would be best. The worst will pass by then. I can handle it after that," she said as a small film of ice began to coat her fur, "I'm sorry if this makes me an inconvinience. I honestly though I had enough time to be able to get there and be gone before this hit."
