"I wish the best of luck and travels. You have a heart of gold, i hope you know this," Dara said with a smile before bowing out and leaving.

"I don't know where I can go now. Is there anywhere I can go that's safe? That tyrant will be back soon, I don't want to be taken away from my daughter again," the mother said, using a sharp claw to cut the collar off her neck, "He's still around isn't he?"

"If he is gone, then I will stay here. I had trusted him to keep the values or his fellow keepers, and he abused that trust.In the morning, I will speak with the other keepers to find ou what they're going to do about replaving him with someone more worthy  of my trust," the mother said, shaking her head, "The nearby town is my charge. I would lay my life down to protect it. If that tyrant was still alive, I would take up your offer, but I would come back to this town to protect it each day."

As her mother spoke, Taeru curled up against her before letting out a sustained purr as she fell asleep. Watcing the two, Nathan leaned back against the wall near the door and slid down as his tired body coxed him to sleep.

"Well, Nathan wants to be a keeper and he willbe learning how to become one.  I think he will replace him.  As I said before, his bond with Taeru is already strong, so I have strong hopes for him.  I wouldn't be surprised if he does end up becoming a keeper." she said with a smile as she glanced over at him.  "He took in Taeru when my friend Ahnah and I destroyed Tyler and he has taken very good care of her.  Since she has been returned to you, would you mind him if he visited her?" she asked.  She honestly didn't want to see their bond weaken since it hasn't been often that she saw such a thing.

"Given the blood he has in him, I would have no problems with him visiting my daughter. I would be glad if he became a keeper as well. He may be young now, but being a keeper is an ever growing job. If he were to become one at this age, he would be better equiped to deal with the changes." Looking to Nathan, the mother tilted her head as she sensed the ring in his pocket. "He was forced to make himself look different wasn't he?"

"I would agree, though I wouldn't know much on the subject.  I am learning though." she said.  She then frowned.  "Yes he was.  Apparenty humans aren't very accepting of beings that look different than them, yet are somewhat human like.  They accept us creatures because we are nothing like them.  I hope that the others around him can learn to like him the way he is.  Thankfully dragons are much more accepting of differences." she said with a smile. 

"They are less accepting of beings likes him because they find them frightening. It is a concept they call the uncany valley. The closer something looks human like while also being off in some way, the more unsettling it is for the. The concept aplies to anything that can move or act as they do. They're not so much afriad of him as they are unsettled by how close to human he looks," she said, scanning over what she could of Nathan, "There are human that wish to have a body like his, albeit exchanging his non hum genetics with another creature's. They're not as common though. They also tend to be the more quite part of humanity, while only speaking up to defend theimselves."

"Makes me sad that humans are like that.  They are all beings with emotions and a soul, so they should look past such appearances and accept them for who they are.  They cannot change who they are, so why not just accept them?"she said with a sigh and a frown.  "Makes life much easier as well..."

"They accept differences, it just makes them subconsiously uncomfortable. Just like every other species though, there are bad apples in the bunch. The only ways they've ever been trained in dealing with being uncomfortable is to assert themselves as ones in the right, and as such, it has engrained itself in their instincts," she said, nuzzling into her child, "There's nothing much Nathan can do, but prove that instinct wrong. He'll have to work hard, but they wll fully accept him in time." Looking over to Nathan, she smiled before moving over to his sleeping form and pulling the burlap tarp over him like a blanket.

(I won't be able to be on very long tomorrow.  It's my birthday and I'm having a party during the afternoon, so I have to get ready.  Just letting you know.)

"I hope they do end up accepting him.  I'm different and the dragons accept me for who I am.  Once people do, then it's hard to remember why they were unaccepting." she said with a shrug.  She watched Taeru's mother as she put a blanket on Nathan.  "Well, I should leave you all to rest.  It has been an eventful night, and we all need to rest." she said.

"Very well, have a good night. If this one has parents or guardian in town, mind telling them I'll be looking over him. No need in having them worry if he's well and protected where he is," the mother asked, laying down beside Nathan, "I'd rather not move him while he is sleeping. No one likes being woke when they just fell asleep."

"It is true.  I'll do that.  Wish wish you, Taeru, and Nathan well.  Goodnight." she said with a nod before leaving.  She then walkedc out of the stable and walked over to Nathan's house.  She then knocked on the door, though quieter than usual in case Nathan's mother was sleeping.

Opening the door, Nathan's mother was rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "Not having worries about being spotted as a dragon are you," she asked, blinking a few times before recognizing GOldenscale, "I assume you're here to say something about Nathan."

Goldenscale chuckled at the statement.  "No, I'm not.  I don't think I look scary enough to scare anyone, and I don't want to mask myself with being as tired as I am." she said.  "Sorry for awakening you, but yes, I would like to give you news on Nathan.  He is currently in one of the stables with Taeru and her mother.  He said he needed time to think and fell asleep." she said with a nod.

"Always thinking like his father.Oh well, at least I know he is, and that he is safe," Catherine said eith a nod, "Thank you for telling me. As for getting caught as you are, the people here are affraid of the creatures the keepers partener themselves with, dragons are no exception. Without a keeper around, they're likely to start a panic if they see you. If you're going to stay like that, be careful."
