"...that doesn't mean that they don't have spirits at all.  Most people think that they are alive but they don't have a soul, with the exceptions of rocks.  Rocks are something most people think of as inanimate object without any source of life or a soul.  But they do have souls, only they are dormant all the time which causes that belief.  These nature spirits are what causes the world around us to be so rich.  They grow plants essential to the live of the animals and they help with the food chain.  Without Nature, there would be chaos and we would all die out within a quick period of time." she said.  "And that was more of an essay ir a speech than a basic summary..." she said with an embarrased chuckle.

"It explained a lot. I'm sure it would have been a lot longer if it was more than a sumary," Nathan said, still writing, "It explains the sense of life all around us, that most people don't notice."

"Yeah.  It's amazing what you can see and hear and everything when you are connected to Nature." she said with a purr

"I guess it's something to look forward to. I still have a lot to learn first," he said, finally looking up, "So, what's next?"

"Um...  Well, based on what I told you, what do you want to learn first?" she asked.  There wasn't really any place to start now that she had that out of the way.  And there were several different ways toteach this...

"Can we start with the spirits, like you or Moonlight," he asked, starting to draw out what he remembered of Moonlight, "It would seem that would be an interesting spot to start with."

She purred.  "Yes of course.  They are very interesting if I may say so.  Well, spirits themselves are everywhere, only they have no physical body that they can interact with.  Even then, there are also spirits that are too young to be able to interact with anything or even come out of their home, like tree spirits.  Spirits are also much more wise than anything that lives because they had lived countlesstimes and gained such amounts of kniwledge that nothing can be compared to any living being.  They remember things that are forgotten, they can sometimes sense when something is going to happen, and sometimes they can even influence the world around them with their powers if they have them.  Spirits take care of things that you and I may not have ever known needed to be taken care of." she said.

"So there are spirits that can take care of any situation? Sounds like a spirit's job would never be complete is they cover a situation or concept," he said, "What all can a spirit like Moonlight do?"

"Well, Moonlight is a special spirit.  She was chosen by the spirit of the Earth to watch over the Earth from above.  She is sort of like a guardian.  She will rise up to meet a strong opponent to take him down.  But she can only take down really strong spirits, like the Shade for an example.  She also has the power to take a lost soul and give it life once more in exchange for keeping watch over a certain area for her.  I was the first and only one she has done that with though.  But it isn't often that she would come down to Earth for something." she explained.

"I see, then she was chosen by a spirit of much greater ability. The spirit of the earth must be an interesting one because of the many types of regions," he commented, begining to draw out a chart of the spirits he had seen so far, "Moonlight  must think highly of you. What about the other spirits that were there in the forest with us?"

"Well, those were all nature spirits.  Each one is born the second a spout pops out of the ground.  They all help each other and keep others alive using their energy as well as the nutrients they can gather from everything.  But they can only influence everything that grows inside their forest.  But everything inside that forest is of the spirits' choosing.  The flowers and other plants, where they grow, how they grow, whether animals can find them, etc." she explained.  

"What about the one called Shadowbinder? When I saw her talking with Moonlight, she gave a different kind of energy that the other spirits there. The energy almost felt like I was standing in pure darkness. Not the bad kind, but more like without any form of light to see," he said, "They were talking about some sort of relation between people from what I heard when I aproached Moonlight."

"Well, Shadowbinder and the orhers like her are different than the spirits I grew up with.  I do not know much about them, nor do I know what they had been talking about.  I only found out about them very recently." she said.

"OK, so what do you know about them," he asked, llooking up to Goldenscale "Maybe I can ask the keepers about them if I have a base to go off of. They might know more with a point of reference."

"Hmmm..." she hummed as she thought.  "Well, there are 12 I think, and each one has a champion and a certain place where it resides.  Each spirit also has a different power." she said with a frown.  "I can't think of anything else about them right now..."
