"Sounds similar to the thriteen elemental gods worshipped by ancient cultures. If I remember, they were sun, moon, light , shadow, nature, plague, fire, water, lightning, earth, arcane, wind, and ice. Some places still modle themselves after those ancient teachings," he said, drawing out runes of each element, "Do you think they might have some connection?"

"Yeah, that's it!  The shadow would be the Shadowbinder, nature is Gladeskeeper, but I can't remember the other ones...  but I do believe they are connected." she said.

"If they're still around, why do you think most places have forgotten about them? From what I've learned, they're only seen as false gods that fell out of popularity a couple hundred years ago," he said, "I wonder what would have caused such powerful beings to fade into obscurity like that."

"Well, something happened to Kyne, their ultimate god, andnow she isn't awake anymore.  I think she is in some sort if deep sleep that she will wake from as soon as all of her spirits and their champions gather and the stones for them are reunited..." she said.

"I don't believe I've ever heard of Kyne. Maybe she's one of the lost gods many old cultures spoke about. History  class taught me there there were several lost gods, all from cultures that no longer fallowed in today's words," he said.

"Well, I don't know either.  This book though seems to have some information about the subject of these thirteen elementals." she said, taking the book out and placing it in front of Nathan.  "I got this from the Shadowbinder."

"This is the book of the lost. The one book lost to humanity during the first dragon campaign," he  said in awe as he brushed over the runes on the book's cover, "It is said this book contains knowledge long lost, and only appears to the one who will restore the world. The last recorded time it was seen was two and a half thousand years ago."

"That it was. I've been protecting it ever since, waiting for the day someone capable of restoring Kyne would show," Shadowbinder said, rising out of Nathan's shadow and taking on his form, "I am confident Goldenscale and Ahnah will be the ones who will do this. The mortal champion and apprentice spirit of the moon, and a tormented soul with a will stronger than iron. Both have the makings of new spirits in them. This is their test."

Goldenscale smiled at the Shadowbinder.  She was glad that the Shadowbinder agreed that they could be the ones to help restore everything.  "And it is a test hopefully we won't fail in." she said with a nod.  She for sure would try hard to make this mission a success, and if that meant that it would take a while to complete and that it would be difficult, then so be it.  She was ready for anything.  Well, maybe not traveling from place to place, but Ahnah would help her with acclimating to each place.

"You have a long way to go before this journey is done. Four days in and you've already created a base of experience to build on when the final battle comes. I gave you the book so you would have a reference to as many sources as you need. You and AHnah are the only two to show enough promise to have what it takes to see this jounrney to the end," Shadowbinder said, running a hand over the cover of the book ,"WHen the Shade falls, this world will be free of its bindings, free to return to a better state. All the spirits have a small piece of them that is sealed away with Kyne. Even each spirit of nature has something sealed away due to the Shade. Humans lost their knowledge of magic and their links to nature. Dragons lost the power they once held. Most gryphons have lost their mind, turning into feral shadows of their former glory. The cockatrice has lost its ability to fly. This world is but a unfinished puzzle due to the Shade."

"And it will be restored.  The Shade is nothing but a plague that can be destroyed by the correct antidote, and that would be Kyne.  It is time that the world returns to it's glory, I gree about that.  Maybe everyone could live in peace once more as soon as the Shade is destroyed.  I have confidence that this will be a success, and the both of us will hopefully accomplish it together." Goldenscale said with a smile and a nod.  "We do have a long way to go, but hopefully in that time we can also learn more about outr world."

"Peace will come slowly once the Shade is gone. It will come as every being comes to terms with their returning abilities. Some will come to terms faster than others, but there may be some that wish to live like such things never returned. None of us spirits of nature know what the Shade took from us when Kyne was sealed, and some of us have lost more than others. Even you have something missing from your being," she said, "Most of us have figured out something about ourselves that might be atributed to this sealing, like I've found I can't manifest in a solid form without the use of someone's shadow, and Lieghtweaver needs a pure source of light to manifest."

Goldenscale nodded.  "Well, I hope peace does come.  This world needs it.  There are so many beings that should get their powers and abilities back.  Everyone has gone on long enough living this way." she said.  She then looked at the Shadowbinder when she heard that she was missing something as well.  She didn't know what, but oh well.  Hopefully she will remember when the time comes.  "Well, hopefully Ahnah and I will succeed in our quest and restore all that has been lost for everyone." she said.

"When the Shade is gone, peace will come. The champions will be rewarded for their strength when the fight is over," she said, stepping back into Nathan's shadow, "I'm sorry, but I must go now, I am being called and I must not keep those in need waiting." With a bow, Shadowbinder sank back into Nathan's shadow.

Looking up from the book, Nathan watched as the spirit disappeared. "CHampions? Shade? What is that all about," he asked as the book's pages flipped to one detailing the Shade and champions, "Is that what you're jouney is about?"

"I believe so.  I originally set out with Ahnah on this journey in search of something, but then I learned of this and decided to take that on as well since it ties to what we're doing.  I heard that it is the Archanist that holds what I search for, but he is very difficult to find.  As soon as he is found as well as the rest of the spirits, then we will all go and get rid of the Shade and its minions." she explained.

"Oh, wish I could help, but it would be best if I didn't. Having no fighting experience or survival skills would make me more of a burden than anything," Nathan said, closing the book and handing it back to Goldenscale, "Besides, I have respocibilities here that need taken care of."

"Well, how about we move onto teaching you about dragons," Ahnah sugested, setting Taeru down on the table where she curled up to take a nap. "Why don't you look after the hatchling while I teach Goldenscale," she asked.
