"Okay, I have to go in a different direction then because I'm going a bit to fast, either that or fly up in a steep acend." she said, trying to slow her gait.

"That all depends one where you want the finish line to be. I'm ready for either outcome," Ahnah said, slowing down herself.

"I know I'll be able to hold on if you fly up, but I don't know how well I'll be able to hold onto the hatchling," Nathan said, holding it close while he settled back between Goldenscale's wings.

"Alright.  I don't have enough time to veer off in another direction, so I'll have to take to the sky.  But instead of me flying up, I'm going to use a rock to propel me up while keeping both of you on my back with my wings.  As soon as I straighten out, I'llopen my wings and glide down." she said to him.  She would be cutting that awefully close, but she could pull it off.

"OK, I'll hold on as best as I can," Nathan said, holding onto Goldenscale.

"There are several stones we can use coming up so be ready," Ahnah called out as they approached a line of boulders, "This will be our best chance."

"Here we go then!" she said.  As soon as she had gotten to the top of one boulder, she roared and jumped as highas she could into the air.  It would be close, but she would make it.  As soon as she leved out, she opened her wings and began to glide down, using them to propell herself backwards and slow her descent.

Launching herself after Goldenscale, Ahnah spread her wings out to glide towards one of the guard towers where she would land. "Try to aim for the towers, they're a higher place to land where you can use gravity to slow you down," she said, starting to climb a little, "We can figure out what to do form there."

She only nodded, lost in how she was going to land.  She had never tried to land on something ao small before, but she will have to try.  She beat her wings behind her to slow her decend, and managed to land on the side, almost falling off.  "Okay, we've landed..." she panted.

"That was an interesting display there, but I would have liked a warning," the guard said, leaning against the oppsosite side of the parapets, "I guess it is kind of hard to warn someone when you're coming in in such a way so I won't hold it against you."

Having landed a moment later, Ahnah climbed her way down the tower she landed on and up the one Goldenscale was on. "Sorry about that sir, this was just a more convenient place to land than waiting to find a place somewhere middle of town," she said, watching Nathan climb of Goldenscale with the hatchling held close.

"I could have landed on the ground outaide of town, if you so wanted.  I just needed tyuo figure out how to slow down, and now I've landed.  I think I'll lay here for a bit..." she said.  Too much adernaline for her.  She needed to calm down and get some air in her lungs.

"That's fine, but do you think you can move a little more towards the middle so I can continue to watch for danger," the guard asked, opening the hatch for Nathan, "I don't mind you being here, but I still need to do my job."

"Sure." she stammered.  Of course, she she being a nuisance at the moment.  She then moved to the center and curled her small body up, savoring the touch of ground beneath her.  She curled up as small as possible so that the guard could continue going around without having to step over her.

"Thank you Ms.. I'll try to keep quiet while you rest," the guard said, patting Goldenscale's side before going back to watching the fields.

"I'll come back later for you. I'm going to see if I can find more information on the runes," Ahnah said before starting her way back down off the tower.

"Okay." she said to her before turning her head and planhg it under the crook of one wing, like a bird.  Her feet were tucked under her and her tail curled around her side.  She soon dozed off..

Several hours later, Ahnah returned and gave Goldenscale a light prod. "Time to wake up. It's nearly noon," she said, "I brought some food as well."

She gave a light growl and shifted a bit but continued to sleep.
