"I don't know." she said with a chuckle.  For once, she had nothing going through her mind other than the fact that she would be leaving tomorrow and she wouldn't see anyone other than Ahnah for the next year.  There was nothing wrong with it, but she would miss them sooner or later.

"Oh, that reminds me, Clair came by earlier. She wanted you to meet up with Ricken at the council building and for you both to come to their home," Mayumi said, stepping around to her plate, "When I asked what she was doing, she only said it would be a surprise for both of you."

"Then I better go see.  See you later, mother." she said as she left.  Once she had reached the council building, she noticed Ricken.  "Hi, Ricken." she said.  "Afternoon.  Let's get going.  I hear Clair has a surprise." he said as he began to lead her to their home.  He then knocked on the door when they got there.

Opening the door, Clair smiled before stepping out of the way to reveal a nest with two eggs. "They're beautiful aren't they? This is why I sent you away this morning Ricken," she said, stepping over to the nest, "And I wanted you to see them before you went off on your jouney Goldenscale."

Ricken smiled and went over to Clair, putting his arms around her.  "They are our beautiful children." he said with a smile. 

Goldenscale looked at the egs in awe.  "Congratulations, Clair and Ricken!" she said with a wide smile.

"There was three, but the third was already gone before it had a chance to live," she said, nodding to an egg wrapped in a silk blanket leaning against the wall. "If the third had survived, I would have only wanted you both her to celebrate," she said, looking to Goldenscale, "I know it might be a foolish thing to hope for, but is there a way to bring that one back? I can understand if there isn't but I wanted to ask you since you have such a deep connection with nature."

"I'll try." she said as she went over to the egg.  She placed a hand on the egg and closed her eyes as she tried to find traces of the soul it once held.

Upon making contact with the egg's shell, a faint, electric like pulse ran through Goldenscale's arm and into her head where it stayed. As the electric pulse grew stronger, the form of a raptor like dragon with a set of mantis like limbs sprouting from where its normal forelegs met its shoulders.

"By what call does this soul of nature bring to interupt my rightful claim to this soul," it asked as the world seemed to come to a stand still, "I have been promised an exalted soul, and I am now claiming it."

"I was asked to save this child.  I will do my best to do just that." she said. 

"Find another soul then, this one has been promised to me, and I do not plan on giving it back. Four years I have been chasing this soul, and I finally have it in my possession," the dragon said.

"It is mine, I will not deal with this folly!" she said, her power multiplying exponentially.

"This soul was promised to me in returne for my protection. I am Stormcaller, embodiment of the element of lightning," he said as the egg's soul started growing weak, "You may be Moonlight's chosen soul, but you have no right to this soul."

(All right.  I may be the same as well.  I have finals next week and I have to study and do homework...)

"This soul is not yours.  It belongs with its mother and father along with its siblings.  This soul is one from their first clutch and I will not let you ruin this.  NOW. GIVE. ME. THE. SOUL." she said. 

Without her knowledge, Goldenscale's body had gotten up and clutched the egg to her chest and ran outside the house and the cave to her own sacred place, her flower.  Once she was there, she knelt in front of the flower and placed the egg down.  Goldenscale was now able to hold much more power than she would have before.  "Give me that soul before I destroy the very particles that make you up."

"You can not destroy a aspect of nature. Only Kyne has the right and power to do so. If you wish to keep this soul, then find an even trade. This soul holds much power, and elemental control," Stormcaller said, a small orb containing the egg's soul being held in his left hand, "I will give youten minutes to find a soul of equal value. It does not have to be that of a dragon, but the strength and aptitude is what is wanted."

"Then I will do my best to find a soul of equal value..." she said with a nod.  She then duaconected and ran off with the egg in her hands.  She then began to search for a soul she could use.  She would prefer using a dead soul to a living one, but she needed to find one fast...
