(Just gonna say, I might not have internet from March 28 - April 5.  My family is taking a vacation.  I'll try to post though.)

Goldenscale listened to Deniigi as he spoke, multitasking between mapping the breaks and gaps in the bone and listening to him.  She looked up as soon as she had finished and smiled, first at Deniigi and then at the resident.  "I'll do what I can.  I'm sure I can draw enough energy to heal his wing enough for him to be able to fly when the fractures heal." she said to both of them.  "I'm sorry to hear that his mate is grounded, though I am glad that they are both able to feel flight still.  I'll try even harder to make sure he can fly." she said, a determined look on her face.  She then made a couple of smal cuts evenly spaced on the wing where the breaks were so that she could insert the elderberry juice inside.  That should end up numbing the areas enough that the unconscious resident wouldn't feel the pain or uncomfortable pressure of the growing bone.  She then placed a petite hand over the base of the wing, slowly moving it upwards as she began to regrow the bone where it was missing.

((It's fine. My father's going to be going into the hospital for some surgery around the 30th, and he wants me to be there after the operation is done. That being said, I wont be having too much time to reply to anything in that time.))

Watching Goldenscale as she worked, the resident only sat with his eyes wide in awh. His silence was only broken by the injured starting to wake. Maving to help restrain him, the resident made sure to avoid getting in Goldenscale's way.

Pulling on the essence of the elderberries, Deniigi used the resulting energy to calm the injured before panic could fully set in. "Calm yourself young one. You will only serve to harm yourself more should you strugle," he said, placing a claw on the injured's head to direct the magic, "You are greatly injured already, but we will have you healed soon enough."

Feeling  the infuence of Deniigi's magic, the injured slowly calmed down before looking up."Please tell me I am not grounded. Me being able to carry mate into the air is the only thing she has left that brings her joy these days, I don't want her to lose that," he said once he was fu;;y calmed down, "She's been that way since she lost her own ability to fly."

(Oh, wel I hope the operation goes well.)

Goldenscale was absorbed in her work, her eyes closed, and was startled when the injured citizen began to move.  She jumped back, her ears going in front in surprise as well as opening her eyes wide and giving a soft chirp, before realizing what was going on.  She then moved forward and placed one wing tip on the injured resident's shoulder while holding the wing in her gentle hands.  As soon as he calmed down, she let go of his wing and resumed her healing.  "You will not be grounded.  I am doing everything I can to regrow the bone that has been lost, though you might have to stay grounded for a couple of weeks so the fractures can heal.  Other than that, you will still be able to fly." she said.  Her ears then went down a bit.  "And I am sorry to hear that your mate is no longer able to fly.  I heard that from your friend there." she added.  She then finished with the missing bone and went to the first fracture, the one closest to the base.  "Ahnah, I'm going to set these couple fractures, then you can cast them." she said.

Giving Goldenscale a nod, Ahnah began preparing the materials. Once the fractures were set, she went to work placing the material. After a few moments, the section had a thick layer of material covering it that would soon harden into the cast.

"There, that should keep that section in place.I'll get another batch of material ready for the next while you work," Ahnah said, cleaning off the material that had stuck to her claws, "I'd say there's only two more spots that need casts now."

"Thank you for helping me. Normally, this would be the shaman's job, but I'm not complaining," the injured said, eyeing what he could of the damage, "I should have been mroe careful. If I was, I wouldn't be here, and we'd have a load of suppies. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I'm alive."

"Don't talk that way. There was no way we could have know the avalanch was coming. It caught us both off guard, you just came away  more injured that I did," the resident said, taking a seat opposite of Goldenscale so she could work, "If anything, I should thank you. Yuo may have taken the worst of it, but you gave enough of a warning for me to brace myself."

Goldenscale nodded in response to Ahnah, already moving to sit in front of the next fractured limb. After applying more of the numbing liquid to the area, she began working to expose the fractured bone so she could set it. She then smiled when the injured resident thanked her. "Well, you are very welcome. I know this would be her job, but I'm just standing in for her while shd takes some time off." she explained. At the citizen's next statement, she shook her head, then nodded at what the unharmed resident said. "From what I know about mountains and snow, avalanches seem like a very dangerous thing. I haven't ever seen one, but they seem to be unexpected and you are very lucky. Hopefully you can find new supplies to replace those that you have lost, and you both will be better prepared for next time. That's all that can be done now." she said. By that point she had finished setting the bone in front of her. "I'm done with this one, Ahnah." she said as she began to move herself again.

"You should listen to your friend and Goldenscale. You did what you could, and that's all that matters. The clan may have needed those supplies, but we can make do without them. We have before, we will manage it again," Deniigi said, watching Ahnah go to work, "No one is perfect, and no one should expect themselves to be perfect. It's those imperffections that make us who we are, and give us reason to live."

After a few moments, Ahnah backed away from the injured. "There, that should keep the bones set till they heal. With any luck, they'll heal quickly, but you should keep off them to prevent unneeded injuries," she said, taking the remaining material and storing it once more, "Given what you two lived through, it's clear the spirits have plans for your future"

Goldenscale nodded in agreement with Deniigi. Though she had made a lot of bad decisions when she was younger because of her imperfections, they had helped her to meet her lover, her mate, and her family in general. Nothing she could do could change it, nor was she willing to change it. She backed away when she finished and watched Ahnah as she worked. She then nodded to what Ahnah said. "It should take a week or two for the fractures to heal. But, Ahnah's right, you shouldn't move them until you get them checked again. You are both lucky to have survived and still be able to heal to almpst perfection." she said with a smile. Of course, magic helped, but they were still lucky. Nature somtimes wasn't very merciful.

"In any case, I'll elp you get home. I'm sure your mate is starting to get worried about you given that you haven't returned yet," Deniigi said, helping the injured to his feet, "You may be out of comission for the time being, but I'm sure she'll be happy to see you alive."  Propping against the injured side,  he led the resident out.

After a few minutes, Ahnah returned. "Now you see why the shaman needs to block out the auras and emotions of others. It's not that they can influence you, rather, it's that they can interfere with the spirits' magic being used," she said, sitting down, "It might not affect you as it would Corazon or me, but it's something to keep in mind."

Goldenscale watched as Deiigi helped the injured resident get back home, stifling a yawn as she sat. She was still recovering from her illness, though she was glad to have it leave so soon after contracting it. Normally she would be sick for days, maybe even weeks depending on how bad it was, but she was lucky this time. When Ahnah entered the room again, she turned her head to look at her. She then gave a quiet whine as looked down for a moment. "I understand it, but it feels wrong. I've felt everything for as long as I can remember, and now I feel so isolated." she shuddered from the feeling. It made her remember what she felt when she first woke after she was attacked her first year of life. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. "But if you think I should use it, I'll listen and use it. As long as I have you around I will." she added, looking at her with a smile.

"More than likely, it'll be me who uses the stone once we're back on the road. Unless you absolutely need it, I wont expect you to use it. It's not something shamans like to do since it blocks us out from the world, but it prevents our focus from faultering, and prevents toxic thoughts from interfering with our magics," Ahnah said, picking up a prod and stoking the fire, "It's not something I enjoy in the least though. It's such a hallow feeling being cut off like that, I would hate to constantly be in that state."

Stepping inside, Corazon and Alignak made their way over to Goldenscale and Ahnah. "I see everything is going well here. We decided t wait for the weather to calm down before trying to scale the mountain. Right now, it's too dangerous to try," Alignak said, taking a seat opposite of Ahnah at the fire, "We will try again tomorrow, the weather should be calmer then."

Goldenscale listened, and breathed a silent sigh of relief when Ahnah said that she would most likely be using it more than her. "It feels uncomfortable, so I can understand how you would think so too. What I still don't understand is why anyone would have to do it. I heard you mention 'toxic thoughts' and I only have arough guess of what those can be, but then by ridding yourself of those, wouldn't you loose the merits of feeling them? Wouldn't it be harder not knowing how strong their souls are, their state of consciousness?" she asked. Though there was really no point in trying to understand such blasphemy, she wanted to understand it more. Goldenscale then turned to the door as Corazon and Alignak walked in. Seeing them come in, she quickly placed the magic coal in her feathers someplace where she wouldn't feel it's power and gave a shiver of delight at feeling everything come back. She then began a content purr as she listened to Alignak. "Well, it seems like a difficult task either way. I hope the weather treats the day well for you both tomorrow." she said without breaking her purr.

Seeing Alignak and Corazon return, Ahnah gave a nod to the explination. "It's hard to explain without leaving questions so I'll try later," she said before looking back to her family, "Well, I'm glad you two are back without a scratch. It's better that we all take our time with this anyways. We shouldn't be trying to exert ourselves while we're mentally compromised. Tomorrow should be clear. The only thing in the way would be that added layer of snow."

"The climb itself isn't really that difficult, just long, and dangerous when the weather is up. Aga and I had carved a path over the years of traveling  it. The best time to avoide the weather though is to travel early in the morning. Something about that time of day makes the weather completely die off till the sunn breaks from the horizon," Alignak said, using his claws to gather up the ash sitting at the edge of the fire and forming it into mounds, "We were also thinking that you should come with us Ahnah. You may be leaving again once you're well, but you're still family. I was thinking that it make give you something good to remember this place by, even if it may be bogged down by the past."

"That would probably do me good. Having something good to remember home by is something everyone should have, even if it's only a view," Ahnah said, lightly leaning against Goldenscale, "Besides, I was going to head out that way tomorrow anyways. Something back at the gates of the Fotress of Ends pulled at my mind. I didn't have time to check it out then, but if felt familiar. I should be well enough to make the trip as well."

Goldenscale listened to Ahnah, then smiled and looked from Alignak and Corazon to Ahnah.  "That is very true." she said.  She then nodded and looked outside.  "There's always the next day too.  We have a lot of time on our hands to complete the mission, so I'm sure we could spare a few days for your travel to the mountain." she said.  As Alignak spoke, she listened, but stifled a yawn behind a wing.  What he said did make sense, and Ahnah would need something to remember Aga by.  "Just be careful since it might be dark out..." she said.  Her eyes were half lidded and she purred when Ahnah leaned against her slightly.  She nuzzled into her side for a moment before she tucked her arms into her chest and fluffed her feathers up.  By then everything sounded like a muffled string of sounds than words.  Using her energy to grow the bone and fix the fractures in the injured citizen's body had taken more out of her than she would have liked, but then again she was still recovering.  Within moments she was dozing off, leaning against Ahnah.

Seeing that Goldenscale was dozing off, Ahnah placed a wing over her. After a few hours had passed without activity, she curled up at Goldenscale's side to fall alseep as well. When the next morning came, Alignak brought in enough food for everyone there.

"Alright Ahnah, it's time to wake. Food's fresh, and the weather is calm. If we head out within the next few hours, we should be able to get back before nightfall," he said, giving Ahnah a light nudge to wake her. Once he set the food out, he went to wake Corazon.

Goldenscale nuzzled into Ahnah's side, relishing the warmth and security.  She was sleeping soundly, a smile on her face, soon after.  Goldenscale slept soundly that night, compared to the last.  It as bliss.  She didn't have to deal with sickness for as long as she had in the past, which was fortunate because she wouldn't have to be left behind.  Normally she would get so sick during winter that she was forced not to move.  She would be left weak and thin by the time Spring came.  But this time, she was only sick for a mere couple days.  By morning she was well rested, though it took her a while to wake up.  The smell of food woke her and she gave a yawn.  "Morning, Alignak..." she said tiredly, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.  She then noticed Ahnah's wing around her and stepped out so she could stretch.  "Wakie wakie, eggs and bacie." she said before nuzzling Ahnah.
