Goldenscale frowned.  "I'm sorry for your loss.  At least Aga got to see Ahnah before she died..." she said.  She then closed her eyes again.  "Has either of them eaten?  They should eat something to keep up their strength..." she said.  She was still concerned about the others even though she should have been worrying about herself.  Maybe she was more sick than Midnight because she had to split energy between keeping her immune system up and healing her injured arm.  It certainly would explain a few things.

"Midnight ate a fair amount when she came in, but Ahnah has yet to eat anything. I'm guessing you already know of her overextended leg," Aipaloovik said, looking back to Goldenscale, "Your fever's probably worse because of your own injury though. A little bit of antisceptic and a bandage should aleviate some stress on your system though. I can go get some if you wish."

Goldenscale got a look of confusion when Ailaloovik said that Ahnah had an overextended leg.  "I didn't know that.  How does that happen?" she asked.  She then nodded when Aipaloovik offered to get her some antiseptic and bandages.  At least with that she coulld disinfect her leg and bandage it to keep it from furthur harm.

"Overextension is similar to pulling a muscle, but isn't as severe. If one isn't careful, and everextended muscle will develope into a pulled one," Aipaloovik said, stepping over to a cabinet and retriecing a bandage and some salve, "I wouldn't say I know a lot about injuries, but pulled and overextened muscles are a very common thing around here. Everyone is taught how to deal with them , no matter wha field they wish to work in."

Goldenscale nodded, her eyes closing as she slowly slipped into the oblivion that was sleep. "That sounds like a good idea. At least the shaman wouldn't have to be bothered all the time for something that everyone knows how to treat...." she said, her voice getting quieter as she spoke. She soon fell into a fitful sleep, her fever making her overheat and sickness making her breathing soft, yet shaky. She had tried to keep herself awake, for as long as she could, but she just couldn't resist its pull any longer.

Being careful not to wake Goldenscale, Aipaloovik applied the salve and bandage before placing a light blanket over her. After placing a few fresh chucks of wood into the fire, he gave a nod before heading off to sleep as well. When morning came, Ahnah was first to wake. Making her way over to Goldenscale, she curled around her before resting her head on Goldenscale's back.

The wet towel on her forehead had helped her to keep her body at the same temperaturethe entire night, so she just had her fever to take care of. As Ahnah curled around her and placed her head on her back, she gave a soft sigh to acknowledge it. Thankfully Aipoaloovik had put the antiseptic and the bandage of her arm, so she had more energy to expend that morning to heal herself. Ahnah's warm body heat did little to raise Goldenscale's already high, yet somewhat cooler fever because of this new energy to help fight her sickness, so she was able to curl into Ahnah's body unlike the day before.

Walking in to see Ahnah and Goldenscale, Aipaloovik stoked the fire before putting a pot of water and vegetables to cook. Walking over to the two, he took a seat beside them. "You two will survive everything it seems. So long as you have each other, your resolve will neer break," he whispered to himself.

After a while, Goldenscale gave a soft whimper before stretching her good arm and her eyes fluttered open. She could still feel she had a fever because she was still hot and she was weak, but she was better than yesterday. "Ahnah....? Aipaloovik? What time is it? How long have I been sleeping..." she said, her voice a little hoarse and sounding weak, though she lifted her head to look at the two.

"It's still early morning. Corazon wont be awake for about an hour or so. You've been asleep ever since you passed out last night though," Aipaloovik said, looking to Goldenscale, "For now, it's probably best that you don't try to expend too much energy. Once breakfast is done, we'll get some warm food in you to warm you up."

"You still have time to rest. There's no use in leaving for the next rune until we've recovered from our injuries, and your and Midnight's illness. If we leave now, we'll only be inviting disaster upon ourselves," Ahnah said, her voice flat and tired, "That, and there's a few things I want to get done here before we go, if only to bring a little peace to myself."

Goldenscale gave a nod to Aipaloovik as he explained the time to her and told her shw should just rest. That would probably be best, just resting. Sickness only made things harder anyways, so she wasn't planning on leaving. She then turned to Ahnah as she spoke. She noticed that Ahnah looked very tired, and maybe still upset. She furrowed her eye ridges in worry at hearing Ahnah's voice. "We need to worry about you too, Ahnah. You need to be able to mourn and do what you need to do. Until you are done here, we won't leave." she said, obviously worried about Ahnah. "I'll support you no matter what, Ahnah. I know you know that. We have a year anyways." she said with a smile, placing her wing over Ahnah's back.

"I know, I know, but I feel as though every day spent here is another day for more pain to sink in. When I first left this place, I tried to forget as much of it as I could. Each day we spend here,  brings back memories, both of pain and Mother. Each one only hurts more," Ahnah said, laying her head back down. "I thought I would be happy to see mother released from her pain and Alignak. I couldn't have been more wrong. Something about seeing her slip from this life to the next broke me away from that."

Goldenscale gave a frown and gave a sigh. Struggling a bit, she turned her body and hugged Ahnah with her wings, wanting to comfort her. "It is hard seeing someone you love leave, and I understand that. If only I could help you release all your pain.... Seeing you so upset and in pain makes me the same way. But maybe by the end you will feel content instead, once you complete your tasks." she said, becoming distressed by Ahnah's pain and depression.

"That's what I hope to achieve through those tasks. Please don't be upset about my personal conflicts though. Knowing I've caused you some form of harm doesn't help matters," Ahnah said, forcing a smile, "Last thing I would want is for you to be hurt in any way because of something I do."

Goldenscale gave a ragged sigh. "I don't like seeing you upset though... But if it doesn't help, I'll stop thinking about it... or just sleep more..." she said. She could tell Ahnah was still upset, despite the smile. It was false, and she could see through it. She did yawn though and she closed her eyes, not expecting to fall asleep, but ending up falling into a fitful sleep anyways. At least now she didn't have to worry about Ahnah, as much as she wanted to.
