"Okay.  I'm just going to put it out there, though I will stay out for an hour if there is no snow around the village, that I might survive about half an hour.  But only if there is snow on the gorund." she said.  She then stood by the fire until Midnght was ready.  "I'm ready when you are." she said.

"The snow is cleared from the main paths around the village. There should be enough room for you to spread your wings, but you should be able to avoid any contact with the snow itself if you stick to the center of the paths," the elder said, bringing in a tray of tea, "If you want, you can take some tea with you. I just finished brewing it so it's still hot."

Goldenscale laughed nervously.  'I'll try to do that.  I would rather not touch snow unless I have to..." shesaid.  She then turned towards the elder and shook her head though she smiled.  "No thank you, I would rather leave it here for you all.  Would it be alright if I drank a bit before I left though?" she asked.  It would be best to have something warm inside her stomach so that she could do better in the cold.

"Go ahead, I have more than enough for myself made up," he said, handing a cup, "The cup itself is easy enough to replace. I made just about everything in thi house. Making another would not ba a problem."

Goldenscale took the nod with a thank you, but shook her head.  "I won't take your cup, it is rightfully yours, and I have no use of it right now.  All I really need is something warm in my stomach." she said before taking a sip of the tea.  It was deliciously warm and wonderful, so she gave a soft purr.

"If you insist, I wont force you to take it. I was just trying to give you a portable source of internal warmth," the elder said, giving a nod, "Good luck out there. Alignak should be easy enough to sense, but getting to him will not be easy with this snow about."

"We'll get to him eventually.  Hopefully it won't take us very long but you never know.  So I should search for an aura close to Ahnah's then in order to find him?" she asked.  It would be better to know what she was searching for for an aura so that they weren't out there searching for someone they didn't know.

"His aura would be closer to mine than Ahnah's since we're direct borthers," the elder said, handing a cup to Midnight, "Ahnah's aura is diluted by her mother's and with going through as many rituals to become a shaman as she did."

Goldenscale nodded.  "Okay, that would be better to use then.  Just as long as I can get a lock on his aura we should be fine.  Now that we have something to go off of it should be much easier finding him." she said.  She would have been able to find him with Ahnah's aura, but the closer it is to the one needed, the easier it was.

"I wish the best of luck to you. Alignak is not going to be happy that outsiders have made it in the village without his knowing. He likes to know everthing that goes in and out of the village," he said before stepping over to the door, "Try to avoid the topic if you can. If you can't, soften the blow as best you can as his words will be unkind."

Goldenscale nodded and smiled.  "I won't bring the topic up unless he says something about it and asks.  I will also try not to take it personally if he does go into a rage.  But I can't guarantee to keep calm if he tries to hurt Mid ight or I.  Otherwise, I can keep him from reacting terribly." she said.  She thwn got up and stretched.

"Do what you wish to defend yourself and Midnight. No expects you to just sit by as he attacks. Outsiders are expected to defend themselves, regardless of who attacks," he said, "To defend one's self is a universally understood right of travelers."

"That is true.  But hopefully he won't attack a traveller.  I know I will not attack unless I have a good reason to, and I hope he has some sort of honor system he goes with for himself." she said.  She then gave a smile.  "Midnight and I should be heading out then.  Hopefully we can convince him enough to help us and make sure he doesn't know Ahnah's here." she said.

"Again I wish the best of luck to you," he said with a nod, "May Kyne's spirit guide you."

Stepping out of the door, Midnight looked back, waiting for Goldenscale to catch up. The snow towering over the path looked as though it was carved straight from ice, the only signs of someone having been there was the tracks in the dirt of the path.

Goldenscale noded back to the elder and trotted a bit to catch up to Midnight.  "Well... they sure do get more snow here than back home...  But then again, they are closer to the mountains..." she saod as she began to walk.
