"I'll see what I can do about making a version more suited to you. Until then, please keep that pendent. No telling who it was trying to control you," Talia said before turning to Goldenscale, "I'll tell the other council members. That will calm them until you get back."

"I'm probably going to be here for a while.  I don't like the thought of going out into the storm..." she said quietly.

"I can understand. I'll be back later to check on things," she said before taking flight and leaving.

After a few minutes Mayumi began to move around as she woke up. "Why....," she asked herself quietly.

Goldenscale went over to Mayumi and laid down next to her.  "Why what?" she asked quietly.

"My memories, they torment me and there is nothing I can do about them," she said looking tired despite having just woke up, "Why can I not come to terms with the past? What have I done to deserve such torcher?"

"You don't deserve it." she said, curling up next to her.  She whimpered quietly.

"All I ever wanted was a family and to be happy, but noww I have neither. Taken by nature and humans," she said looking into the puddle that had gathered near her, "Why must these things happen?"

"I don't know.  Maybe it was supposed to happen, but I don't know...." she said with a sad sigh.

"Maybe I'm not ment to understand these things. Maybe I don't deserve a family, and what happened is just life telling me how this," she said, "maybe I just don't deserve to be happy like everyone else."

"No, you do deserve to have a family.  Maybe this is just telling you that you can remember but you need to remember them as good memories, not as bad and hurtful." she said.  She didn't know how to help her with this.

"I try but the pain always comes back. The memories always lead back to the pain, to the hole they have left behind. They're a curse and a gift, just like a rose and its thorns," she said, "I want to fill the hole again, but I'm afraid it will all happen again and make the hole bigger. I don't want to loose everything again."

"You just have to believe that everything will be good again and that history will not repeat itself.  You can live in the future, but it will hurt your action is the present.  Thinking about the past can hurt or help you in the present, but living in the present by learning from the past and making only simple plans for the future are what makes living and happiness possible." she said quietly.

Frost gets up and puts his wings on Mayumi, "you do have a family. It's us," he says smiling. "And i was thinking of your offer and i accept it if you'll have me that is."

After a long pause she looked up to Frost, energy returning to her face.  "Of course I'd love to have you," she said as she began to smile, "Maybe we can be happy together. Maybe things can get better."

He goes quiet and lays beside them. His wing still on her back.
