"I get it now.  But that's odd.  I wasn't hatched with another.  I wonder how i got it..." she said with wonder.

"It is possible to inherit heterochromia from one's parents if both are affected. Still rare for it to be passed on, but  possible. You could have gotten in from your parents," she said.

Frost studies the enviroment slowly.

"Maybe." she said.  "I might borrow a few of those genetic books.  I still have a dew questions I want to find answers for." she said.

"They're yours if you want them. I have no use for them anymore. You can ask Metraz where they are, I'm going to stay here with the eggs," she said.

"Really?" she asked.  Her first books.

"Yes, as I said ealier, I don't plan on leaving the orphanage to practice madicine any time soon. They need me there just as much as these eggs need me and Metraz. That reminds me, if it's OK with you, Metraz will be peocupied every other day as we take turns caring for the eggs. I can understand if thatdoesn't work for you. If it doesn't might we works something out?"

Frost touches the bookshelf that was there.

"Of course that works out.  Parenting requires both parents." she said.  "And anyways, I'm not as delicate as I may seem." she said with a sly smile.  "If something happens while he's gone, I'll be able to deal with it.  Besides, I had to take care of myself all throughout my time in the forest." she said.  "He's needed here." 

"I was just making sure. Didn't want him disappearing on you without there being anyclue to where he was," she said with a smile, "Despite being an enforcer, one of the most brutal and dangerous groups of dragons around here, he has a soft heart. He'd rather incompasitate someone that do them any real harm."

"A few enforcers had already run into me and I think they know what happens if they get on my bad side..." she said with an embarrassed laugh.  

"The enforcers are nice protection, but being able to protect one's self is just as nice. You time in the forest must have been the perfect training for such skills," she said giving a yawn as the sky cleared letting the sun shine through. "I'm glad winter doesn't last long around here. I hate the cold. Can't wait for the spring festival though. Hopefuly the eggs will have hatched by then, I wouldn't want them to miss such a festive time."

"I think that a few of the enforxers are quick to harm, but other than that, they are good protection.  Winter has always been hard for me.  For some reason, my scales can't hold in heat, so I freeze faster in the snow and cold.  Probably another defect, but who knows. Wait, what's a 'spring festival'?" she asked.

"The string festival is a festival around here to celebrate the arival of spring and the first harvest. The fruits grown only bear fruit twice a year, once in spring and once in fall, so they are used in festivals at those times, or saved for harder times. There are all sorts of other stuff grown for our survival hence the celebration," she explained, "Here soon, you might be getting with the rest of the council to decide what needs to be done to prepare for the festival."

Frost sits down and looks at the new makings of the cave but he can see the scorch marks from where he destroyed it.
