"Wow." she said, amazed by the room.

"Three weeks of construction and a month of preperations. It will server as the nesting room, and the little ones' room once they hatch," she said adjusting some of the nest material, "We plan on giving the best we can afford for our children. This will be our only chance. These six eggs are the only one's I fetile clutch out of all our attempts."

"I'm happy you were able to have the chance of having them.  I used to be around some eggs when I was back with a couple of the other species, like the Cockatrices.  But theirs had a dull color to them." she said as she continued to look around the room.

"The cockatrices are a very kind hearted species despite their reputaion of petrifying gazes. For a while, there was a small family of them that lived just outside the cave," she said curling up around the eggs, "This room may be plain right now, but we still have time before the eggs hatch to work up enough silver to get decorations. For now though, the sky is all we need."

"Am animals of the forest are.  They're just caught at a bad time.  And I think the room is beautiful as it is." she said with a smile.

"I think the room is fine on its own too, but each of the little ones will want some way to mark their section," she said looking at the eggs trying to guess how each would turn out, "I would know, I grew up with four brothers in a room about the same size as this one. We all wanted something to mark what part of the room we could call our own. Usually, we used the markers as our beds as well."

"Who knows how it will turn out." she said.  

"Yeah, all I can do for now is care for them and hope nothing happens to them," she said, "Some time during the week, I'm going to have Metraz get the local shaman to bless this room. I may not be the religious type, but I'm not taking any chances with dark spirits."

Goldenscale growled slightly at the mention of dark spirits.  "It would probably be a good idea.  'Dark' spirits are creatures that do not need to be in place like this." she said as the thought of the litch.

"All I know about them is from stories, but I'd rather not take chances," she said before noticing Goldenscale's light growling, "Is something wrong?"

"I've already met a dark spirit.  But he is outside the cave.  He knows what happens when  something here on my bad side." she said.  "Until you can get the shaman to come here, I'm going to put a protection spell on this room to keep spirits like him from entering.  But only with your consent." she said.

"That would be nice, but we don't  have anything we could pay you with," she said, "Could you wait to be paid, or would you need paid now?"

"You don't need to pay me at all.  I just want to protect and help others.  That's what I've done all my life." she said with a warm smile.

"Thank you. It's hard to find free services anymore," she said lloking relieved, "Do whatever you need to do."

Goldenscale closed her eyes, symbols appearing on her shoulders as she murmured something incomprehensible.  A couple minutes later she finished the spell.  "There, your eggs should be protected from any spirits." she said as the glowing symbols on her shoulders began to disappear.
