Serveral miles out beyond the surounding valley, two auras could be detected traveling away from the cave towards a human settlment.

Goldenscale teleported herself about two miles from the cave and ran at the speed of a cheetah towards the creatures.  She was tired and she was angry.  When she was angry, nothing could survive what got in her way.

Stopping where it was, the pitch black dragon turned to meet Goldenscale uttering a few incomprehensible words. Almost instantly, the ground began to collapse under Goldenscale.

Goldenscale flew at them with the speed of a hummingbird and snapped the first dragon's neck before launching herself at the black dragon.  She dug her teeth and her claws into the dragon as deep as she could to try and kill him.  She then put a protection spell on the egg to keep it from cracking.

"You though you could get rid of me so easily didn't you," the dragon asked starting to melt into a black substance and reforming a few feet away, "You may have destroyed my ticket to imortality, but will not die so easily. Many have called me the aspect of chaos, and I plan to keep that title."

"Then try this!" she roared as she absorbed the moonlight.  She then used the stored light to make a beam so concentrated and pure that nothing could withstand it and shot it at the black dragon.

When the beam of light hit the black dragon, it seemed to evaporate to the point of beeing nothing but a set of black stained bones before they collapsed, with a black substance seeping from them. "I will have your soul, one way or another," Archen said before his aura dissappeared into the human settlementtaking the black substance with it.

Goldenscale collapsed to the ground.  "He...shouldn't...have still...been able...to...live..." she murmured before blacking out.  She knew Mayumi would be out somewhere, so before she left, she put a spell over her to protect her from anything, him in particular.  She just lay there on the ground, the moon watching over her.

Several hours later Mayumi stubled across Goldenscale. "What are you doing out here," she asked prodding Goldenscale before she saw the egg, "Better question, what is that doing out here?"

Goldenscale still didn't wake.  She was out cold.

Closing her eyes to focus for a moment, runes began to shine on her skin once more. Picking up Goldenscale and putting the egg in her pouch, Mayumi started making her way back to the cave. As the sun began to rise, they made it back to her home where she placed Goldenscale on a soft pallet, and handed the egg over to Talia.

Goldenscale continued to sleep, though she mumbled something incomprehensible.

"Everything will be OK," mayumi said quietly as she layed down next to Goldenscale and placing a wing over her before she herself fell asleep.

Gold scale woke up hours later, making a high-pitched yet soft growl before opening her eyes softly.  "You're back already Mayumi?" she asked quietly.

"I said I'd be back by morning. When I found you passed out in the middle of the forest, I got us back here as fast as I could," Mayumi said rubbing the sleep from her eyes, "What were you and that egg doing out there?"
