"I'm not sure if you were in some sort of trance last night, but you help bring Goldenscale here during a blizzard. That pendent is protecting and amplifying your mind," Talia said seeing Frost examine the pendent, "I've got and complete hand written repor of what happened yesterday if you wish to read it."

Goldenscale observed everyone and smiled as she went in a corner and curled up.  She was glad Frost and Mayumi were OK after what had happened over the past couple of days.  But her mind kept wandering to what had happened the day before.  It was going to be quite some time before she was going to be back to normal.  After watching them for a while, she went back outside to her willow tree and curled up on a branch, the leaves curling around her body as if to protect her as she thought.  

After taking the box off the fire, Mayumi went outside to see Goldenscale in the willow with several hatchlings playing around the base of the tree.

Goldenscale continued to sit in the tree even though she noticed all the hatchlings down below her.  She didn't know why they chose to play here, but she didn't know much about her own kind anyways.  She continued to let her mind wander.

After a while the hatchling layed down for a nap at the base of the willow as the sun poked through a hole i the cave cieling, heating the area.

"They choose some of the most out of the way places to take nap at," Mayumi said placing a small blanket over each hatchling, being careful to not wake any, "They remind me of the better time, especially today."

"Is there am better time?" she asked absentmindedly.  Her eyes had turned green again and she looked at Mayumi, her face supporting a slight frown.

"For me there was, but you already know that story," mayumi said giving a light sigh before looking up to the hole in the cave cieling, "The simpler times have been lost to me."

Goldenscale looked down.  "But when something is lost, something else is found..." she said airily.  'At least in everyone else's case...' she thought.  She sighed and lay her head on the branch.

"You're right, might never have found this place and you if things didn't go as they did," Mayumi said still looking to the sun, "You give me hope that I'll find peace once more. I can't repay you enough for that."

"Helping others is what I do best." she said with a smile.

"So, what was the council meeting over this morning," Mayumi asked looking over to Goldenscale, "I meant to tell you they wanted for the first three issues, but you were already gone by the time I woke up."

"The first issue was about the schools giving out a larger variety of foods, the second issue was about your temporary leave, and the third was about what I wanted to do about living here.  You can get your pass to leave this evening, but they want a full account of what you did while you were gone." she said, putting her head back on the branch.

What made them change their minds about letting me leave? Why would they want to know what I do while away" mayumi said looking shocked at what Goldenscale had said, "No matter. I may be late, but being there is all that matters to me."

Goldenscale didn't say anything, for she was back to letting the tree show her the world. She needed to escape her own insanity now, so this is what she did.  It would be a while before she went back to doing anything, after what she had witnessed the day before.

After not recieving an answer from Goldenscale for some time, Mayumi went back into her home to finish preparing for her leave. A few hours later Tieral landed near the willow, covered in dirt and snow. "may her soul finally find peace," he thought.
