Goldenscale stopped fighting. "I'll be back later." she said as she ran towards the cave again. Along thw way she made a pit stop to her sanctuary and picked up some berries before continuing on her way.

Upon entering the shop, Mayumi and Ahnah could be seen looking over the nest, leaving a spot for Goldenscale.

"Come onover here, you wanted to be here for this," Mayumi said, briefly looking up to see Goldenscale. As she looked back down, a distinct cracking could be heard coming from the nest as on of the eggs began to crack open.

Goldenscale immediately went over to the nest, panting slightly. She bit her lip, trying to keep her desire to help them down. "I never thought I would be here for this..." she said quietly. Her eyes portrayed several emotions, but surprise and happiness overcame them all.

Placing a wing over Goldenscale's back, Mayumi watched as the eggs hatched.

The first eggs to start showing signs of life was the middle one, the one that had reacted to Frost's crystal. As several cracks formed across the egg's surface,  a single hole formed, showing a brief climpse of white scales before it was blocked by a tiny claw that worked at the edges of the hole. Within a few minutes the hatchlling had worked open a hole big enough to cause the rest of the shell to collapse, leaving an ice white hatchling with bright blue tipped feathers, sitting in the mess left behind. Moments later, the other two eggs fallowed , revealing a crimson red scaled hatchling and a hatchling with the same colors as Mayumi.

"It's Mi'Vier and Frost..." she whispered too quietly for anyone to hear, her hands covering her mouth. 'Oh my oaks...' she thought happily. She had witnessed her first family hatching. She had experienced several before, but not one for a family. She had never felt so elated to see one. "What are their names..." she asked quietly.

"I know for sure the white irl will be Frost. His spirit lies in her and the name itself is gender neutral. The crimson girl will be Falinx. The gold boy will be Gian," Mayumi said, taking a soft towel and gently wiping off the slime from the eggs, "While I get them cleaned up, why don't you cut up a couple hand fulls of those berries so they can  have their first meal?"

Goldenscale then nodded and began to cut the berries, not trusting her voice just yet.

"If only he was here to ee them," Mayumi whispered to herself, moving each hatchling to a pillow of theur own. "No matter how many imes I see that happen, it always amazes me," she said, picking the pieces of eggs shell out of the nest, "It's hard to imagine ever being as small as they are, but itis certain we were."

Goldenscale still remained silent, but looked looked at the hatchlings with mixed feelings. "I made them a set of toys, when could I bring them over." she asked quietly.

"You can bring them over whenever yhou have some free time. They wont be playing with them for a while though, they need to learn to walk first," she said, returning to the hatchlings that were nowletting out short high ooitched cries. Taking three strips of ribbon, each piece being the same color as the hatchling it was going to, Mayumi tied them into bow around each hatchling's neck, making them tight enough that they wouldn't mave and loose enough that they wouldn't choke the hatchlings. "I do believe they'll make good friends with Ece and Alekai," she said.

"I think so. Why are you putting ribbons on their necks?" she asked.

"The ribbon is treated with a chemical sollution that wards off illness. It's an old tradition  I learned from my mother," she said, lightly brushing a wing over the hatchlings, "If you want i can make Ece one. It wont do her aany good whioel she's sick, but one the cold passes over, it'll help keep her from getting sick again."

"Oh... Alright. I won't be here to prevent it from happening again anyways..." she said quietly. She then crouched and turned her eyes to the hatchlings.

"When you have the berries ready, we can start giving them their first meal. I'm glaad you decided to get them fruit instead of meat though, less preparation needed and easier on their systems," she said, "they probably wont open their eyes till late this afternoon, but they can sense your aura. These first few hours will be a critical time where they get a sense of who they can trust to protect them, and who wants to harm them."

ºThey'll know I won't hurt thwm no matter what, correct?º Moonlight chuckled. Goldenscale pushed a small pile of berries towards each of the hatchlings.
