As Goldenscale's lullaby carried on, Ece's cries slowly became nothing more than whimpers as she opened her eyes to see Goldenscale. "Mama and Papa are gone forever, and I could do nothing to stop him," she said, her eyes glazed over with tears and her voice was shaky, "Why must this nightmare haunt me? I don't want to be reminded of the pain."

"All I have to remember them by are hazy memories and this nightmare. I only got to know them for one year before this happened, and even that is only remembered in pieces," she asid, craawling over to Goldenscale as the world around them faded back to just before the screams started. When they did, Ece flinched before whimpering and pressing into Goldenscale.

As Goldenscale's chant came to an end, the world faded out to a black nothingness untill both Ece and Goldenscale opened their eyes in the waking world. "I'll try asking her next time I see her, whenever that will be," she said, her voice faint and rough due to her cold.
