"There are people that would do anything to have the abilities you have. Do not look at them as defects. They are gifts given to you by nature," Mayumi said, "Please don't think badly of them."

"Happyness, and sorrow are always badly represented in a dream, and are traits only the living have," she said bringing Goldenscale closer, "I've faught in a war against trapped spirits, and none of them showed either emotions. Even when they were freed. As soon as they show happyness, they pass on. Never did they show saddness, just pain."

"Isn't pain what shows us if we are alive or dead?" she said quietly.

"Even the dead feel pain. It may not be a pain we can feel, but spirits that haven't passed on feel a pain outside mortal comprehension. Even my mother, who bound herself to nature, feels this pain," she said, "In the same way they feel a pain we can't, we can feel a pain they can't. The living can feel a mental pain, more commonly know as sorrow."

"And I feel sorrow, so that means I'm alove..." se said disbelievingly.

"Yes, and it will always be that way," she said with a smile as she push her own feeling aside, "Now let's get that cut bandaged up. No need in letting it get infected."

"That may be so, but it can still cause you problems later if it does get infected. With a cut like that, an infection could cause you to loose the  leg," she said as she took her wings from around Goldenscale and went to get some disinfectant, "Since I'm the local medic of sorts, I would be the one that had to cut it off, and I don't want to do that to you."

"Now you see what I'm saying," she said walking back over to Goldenscale with a jar of liquid and some cotton, "Now, let me see the cut. This will make sure it wont get infected."

Taking the lid off the jar, Mayumi soaked the piece of cotton in the liquid then began dabbing at the cut. After acouple of runs over, she soaked a piece of cloth and wrapped it around Goldenscale's arm. "That should do it," she said while she put the supplies away, "That should give it enough time to scab over and start healing."

"Blasted iodine, why does ot have to sting my nerves..." she murmured, putting her arm back under her.

"Because, if it didn't you'd have a bigger problem to deal with than a simple infection. If it didn't sting, it would mean you arm would have already been a lost cause. Besides, you do feel pain to some extent, and this just proves it," she said as she walked over to Alekai, who was still asleep, "Now, weren't you and Tieral going to head into the main cave?"
