(That's alright)

"When someone's in love, they'll do plenty of things that they don't have to. Besides, who wouldn't want a warm bed after a cold day like today," he said as he curled up on half the bed, "Just think of it as you reward for making it through the day."

"I don't need any rewards, only the satisfaction that I lived another day helping others and being myself." she said with a yawn as she curled up on the bed.

"Thank you for not rejecting me," he said before laying his head down, "I'll see you in the morning."

(Ooh, now to do something to Goldensdcale. *devious smile*)

"How could I reject you?  I did chose you to be my enforcer after all because I saw more in you than anyone else.  Night." she said, falling asleep. 

Later that night she woke.  She felt wrong.  Wrong was in the air, in the ground, in the trees.  She got up slowly as took not wake anyone else and ran out of the cave on silent feet.  She then went to the outskirts of the forest and looked around, searching for that source of wrong.  "Hello, my dear." someone hissed.  A shadow flew towards her, a blade out in front of her and a fire spreading around them like wind.

"What do you want with Goldenscale," mayumi asked, using the crystal she gave Goldenscale to project her voice, "you'd best explain yourself."

Goldenscale was able to catch the blade between her hands then kicked Herr off.  "Stay out of this." the shadow hissed before breaking any remaining connection.  The flames had now consumed both of them and Goldenscale was now dancing along them.  "Join my ranks and no one shall reject you.  Do you really think anyone could love you, you with all of those defects?  They only pity you.  Join my ranks and everyone will understand you and look out for you." the shadow creature said in a nasally voice.  "NO!!!" she yelled.  "I will not join you, I will destroy you!" she yelled.  The shadow creatures eyes grew in disbelief, then narrowed.  "Wrong choice." she hissed as she made the flames grow in size and began to attack Goldenscale.  "I will not let you harm anyone I care about!!!" she screamed, attacking the shadow as well.  No one comes into her territory and gets away with it.  And there was no way she was going to cal for help.  When she was able to blind the shadow, she threw every crystal, charm and flower that held her contacts into the forest away from the fire, the shadow and her.

When Goldenscale threw the crystals and flower away from the fire, Mayumi snapped awake and stood. Wasting no time, she ran towhere she last felt the crytstal near the fire.

The shadow felt Mayumi's aura running towards her.  "That old alchemist doesn't know when to take a hint does she?" she said as she grabbed Goldenscale and placed the sword directly under her head and a knife at her side.  There was no way a dragon this hound would be able to prevent such wounds.  There she waited for her to come.  Goldenscale wasn't the slightest bit afraid of what could happen to her, only what would happen to the ones she loved.

"One does not threaten a fallower of the FIrestarters," a familiar voice said seeming to come from the fire itself, "You have chosen the wrong dragon to take. I warn you once, leave her be or face to full power of white fire."

"I won't be able to die.  Though I am no litch, I can keep myself from death several ways." she said with a devious smile.  "Now if anyone interferes I will stab her with my knife and slice her throat like a petal falls from a flower." she said threateningly.

"You dare question the Chapter of Soul? A sould destroyed by my fire shall never return," the voice said as a white fire jumped from the surounding fire to the blade, quickly causing it to loose its edge and lethality. From the fire, a red and gold gryphon like dragon stepped forward sporting several clumps of white fire in it's wings, "You do not know the meaning of imortality."

Seeing what she was up against, she frowned.  "Sorry to kill and run, but it has too be done." she said, shoving the knife deep into Golenscale's side before running off.  Before she could get far though, Goldenscale grasped her leg and held her in a death grip.  She pulled the knife from her side, the blade becoming her own vital fire and thrust it deep into her chest before collapsing onto the ground.  She covered the wound with her wing, hoping she wouldn't bleed to death before she got to her flower.  The shadow screeched in the highest hearable note before dispersing into an billion particles.  The flames died down, and with it Goldenscale.  All that remained of it there was a poo of blood.  Before the flames died down, she had made it to her flower before collapsing.  The trees then made a barrier of roots and branches around it so that nothing could get through as they tried to heal her.

"You will be healed Goldenscale," the dragon said passing through the roots and placing a paw over the wound," No fallower of me will die under my watch." Adding it's energy to the forest's efforts, the wounds slowly began to close.

Goldenscsle only sighed.  "I don't die that easily.  If anything, I would have fallen asleep for a short amount of time.  It's impossible for me to die.  I've tried to do it before, and it never worked.". She growled.  "I am no earth bound creature.  I am only a sorry excuse of one.  I will never be like another creature on this planet.  That's why she was drawn to me.  I have more power than any other creature here..." she said.  "I am nothing but a mistake the world created..." she said quietly.

"Nature doesn't make mistakes. Mistakes are made by the mind not the world," it said taking it's paw from Goldenscale, "You can't die by conventional means. You'd have to loose your connection to the planet to even come close to dieing. One day, age will take you. Until then, you have everything looking after you."
