"Thank you Goldenscale," Tieral said after the crowd had thinned out to the point of only the workers sticking around, "Thank you for everything you have done here today."

"What are you thanking me for?  I help and protect others on a daily basis, this was just something I did to help ensure everyone was safe.  That reminds me, I'm not done yet."  She walked out of the cave and ran to the center of the forest surrounding the cave.  She then roared to all of the creatures that lived in the forest.  Soon, every Gryphon, Unicorn, Puma, Roc, and Cockatrice was there.  She did the same thing there, only she put a spell on the surrounding forest, excluding any human settlements there.  Now nothing could penetrate the areas for miles around.  She slumped tiredly against a tree.  "Now I'm done..." she murmured.

"I thank you because of what you mean to me," he said once he caught up with Goldenscale, "With the rule changed, I no longer have to worry about being caught with these feelings."

"You're welcome." she said quietly.  She slid to the ground from the tree, half dozing.  She knew she should probably be resting from what happened the day before, but she never did like staying still.

"Let's get you home so you can rest," he said using his wings to slid Goldenscale onto his back before he started towards Frost's home, "What had you so worked up this morning?"

"Mayumi went into the Deep Sleep, and I've been in it.  It isn't fun." she murmured.

"I'm not sure what a 'Deep Sleep' is, but I'm going to assume she'll be inactive for a while," he said.

"The Deep Sleep is what you call a coma." she said before yawning.  "It isn't fun, at least not for me, because it keeeps me from doing what I do best." 

"Why would she be going into a coma," he asked, sounding a little concerned, "What did she do to cause that?"

"Using too much spiritual energy in a single day.  When I went over the power limit of my body, it made me sick.  When she went over, this happened." she said.

"So, why were you so worked up," he asked, "Was it not her own doing that put her in the state she's in now?"

"I didn't want her to go into the Deep Sleep because then I would have a harder time of helping her if her health dropped.  I also understand absolutely nothing anymore, not even myself.  So I've been in an odd mood..." she said quietly.

"For as long as I can remember, she's been the cave's sole source of medicine. I've never heard of her becoming ill or worse despite not being from this world," he said, "I understand your concern. No one really understands themselves. Mostly we take that for what it's worth and go along worrying about other things."

"But when I say I don't understand myself, I mean I understand nothing at all.  I don't understand my powers, my personality, my history, absolutely nothing..." she said with a sigh.

" that's not always a bad thing," came a voice.
