DId what I swore I would never do, used coins to buy Gambling boxes thinking it may be different than any other game that uses Gambling boxes. Wrong, nothing but worthless junk, embarssingly worthless junk. I don't know what is suppose to be in them but after opening 10 of them I got less than what I would get from 1 explore with a GP3 pet on 1 island. Horrible things. Will never touch them again. something I already knew of course but guess I had to teach myself a lesson..

Aaaaaaaargh I kind of hate pedigrees right now. XP Because of the Kami event, I bred one of my best mares to a stallion that I thought was pretty good, and gave her pink fish eggs. 

Turned out to be distant realtives. Now I need to figure out what to do with 2 degenerated foals with rather unsatisfactory genes.

I'm sorry, I really am. 

All my GOOD gp1 lykos are mothered by the same pet! I won't be able to get any gp 2 lykos for a long while T.T

I really wish I'd known we couldn't extract liquid deviance after the tundra closed so I wouldn't have wasted the time, energy flow cards and silver it took to 250+ hibernating eggs that are now going to be useless.

I usually have on-off hiatus relationships with sites and BK is no exception - but it seems like I always pick the worst times to vanish because I've missed out on a lot of stuff (ex. the free egg, Amor event, Tundra time). This isn't super terrible, but I gotta say that my least favorite part of BK has got to be how newbie-unfriendly it is (community excluded). I really do appreciate the 'hard work and persistence required' gameplay because it makes every achievement satisfying and worthwhile, but at the same time it's incredibly frustrating to automatically be 'invalidated' for various events because I just haven't gotten to the point of where I have/can produce pets or obtain resources capable of completing the tasks. Case in point - deviant pets required for liquid deviance for activating hibernating eggs. 

@Inkoryl ~ You do not need to be an old player to breed deviants. as long as you have adequate stable space and a bit of luck, anyone can breed a deviant.

As for the missed events... Virtually all games have some sort of time limited event centered around major holidays that requires you to work for the prizes. Beast keeper is no exception.

Of course I'm not blaming the site for missing out on events. I'm intimately familiar with the concept of timed special events, and it was entirely my own bad luck for being inactive during the time of. However, while what you say is technically true, there's other things I can cite to back my point up. Crafting items that require pets with high stats/special genes, for example. True, you can buy them, but again, limited time/resources/space, not to mention quantity available to purchase.

The deviance pets are admittedly a weaker example - of course newbies can breed them as well, it's just a much steeper slope considering stable space & resource limitations compared to the amount of time before an event ends. I don't disagree that of course long-time players would have a easier/better time accessing things, as should be the case - I just wish there were better alternatives for newbies, considering the time restraints.

I know it's possible for newbies to achieve many of the things given enough dedication & determination, and the difficulty obviously isn't a dealbreaker for me. I'm just mildly frustrated because it always feels like an inordinately exhausting uphill battle due to a lot of hard-to-meet (at the moment of) requirements stacking up. I will admit that I'm sometimes unfairly impatient though, so that could definitely be a contributing factor.

I really need to breed more acid strike cockatrices.

I've only have one and today is the second day in a row that I've gotten multiple quests requiring one!

This site doesn't have that many users.  It makes going through the forums very difficult.  I want to be able to shop around in the forums, and see what people are selling, and drawing and stuff, but I keep coming across old topics even on the first page! I really want to be able to be active in the forums but with very few active users I'm not sure if thats going to happen.

Also, the notification system should be fixed so instead of getting it through email I get it in my pm box.  I don't like having to constantly go to my email XD

i don't go onto the battlefield all that often but when i do and when i get a chance to trade on the portal, its always upgrade items. what i mean by that is i get nightcats, money tree saplings, ancient horn... never the blueprints for the building schemes. i would prefer getting the blueprints first and then the upgrade items.

I bred a Deviant Puma...with its deviance in Normal. Which means it will look like every other Gray Puma in existence.

You think by now they would have something for Deviants homozygous in Normal.

Just think of it as free liquid deviance when the tundra returns.

Do you reckon the Tundra will be back when winter rolls around? If it was well-received last time around, there'd be no reason not to bring it back.

Gah... I placed 4th in this last exhibition and my deviant Puma's deviance was Normal. I understand it's randomly generated but it kind of sucks that the deviant can't even be identified as a deviant by just looking at it.
