C: Honey

Honey growled. “Don't worry, we aren't.” The vines around the black she-wolf's paws tightened.

L: East Side

C: Despair

Despair lashed her tail, and the shadows cast by the trees swirled aroud the spike in the ground. It rose as Despair concentrated, then she threw it back at the alpha of the wolves. The shield blocked it , although it flickered a bit. "DawnPack, attack!" She barked, then leaped forward. Her shadow dogs followed.

L: East side

C: Honey

Honey growled to herself. We need something bigger to break that sheild! Suddenly, an idea popped in her head.

Almost intantly, a large groan echoed through the forest. Honey was shaking with the effort, but soon, a tree fell right onto the sheild, dissipating it, seperating Honey from Despair, Ash, and Sugar.

The wolf who cast the sheild gasped. A second sheild formed, but it was noticeably weaker than the original.

L- east

c- Sugar and Ash

Ash growled.

Sugar looked up and again barked as a flash of lightning struck the sheild. It died immediately. 

"C'mon!" she barked,leaping into battle.

Ash looked up again, his eyes wide. "I need to go back!" he yelped, and ran back to the camp before permission.

He leapt into the mothers' den. He saw the small wet pups and shook his head. "Lady, you need to have the rest now! I can see the wolves attacking our camp, so we need to hurry and go! You can't leave while giving birth, so you need to hurry or else all your pups will be chomped up alive!"

L: Camp

C: Lady and Despair

Lady looked up in horror at Ash, then finally pushed out the last pup. She quickly licked it dry, hen shakily stood up. Her mind whirled; she was so exhausted. She stumbled, then fell on her face. Her pups mewled.

Despair howled in rage as she met the other alpha head on. He snarled and shot spikes at her, but she dodged them all. Fury filled Despair as she looked in the wolf's cold face. He didn't get abused by humans, nor did he face the challanges her pack did. But here he was, acting all superior. She sank her teeth into the alpha's paw, resentment coarsing through her. He screamed, then whacked Despair in the muzzle. She staggered back, her vision a bit fuzzy. However, she shook her head and glared directly at the wolf's handsome face......wait....Despair's features contorted as she replayed her thoughts. Handsome? What? She hated this canine. What was she thinking? 

L - Camp

C - Greta and Teri

Greta yelped when she saw Lady fall. She rushed over and tried to help support the other dog. At the same time, Teri barked at Ash. "Where can we go that is safe? There has to be someplace nearby where they can't find us."

L-west side and camp

C-Sugar and Ash

Ash snarled. "You all leave the camp and head to the stream. It'll be safe. I have to stay."

Sugar butted Despair with her head. "Get up and stop dreaming!" she snarled. "We have a group of killers to chase out!"

At that moment, the other silver male, not the alpha, lunged at Sugar.

Sugar yelped in surprise and pain, and before she could react, he bit her leg. Cracking bone and tearing flesh could be heard as he sliced through her limb. 

He threw her aside, and she layed in a small, limp heap, her breathing quick as she moaned in pain. Blood began to pool around her leg.

L: East side

C: Honey

Honey watched Sugar collapse, and a look of horror spread across her face. Suddenly, a rage took over, and Honey hurled herself at the silver wolf, snarling.

Honey slashed and bit at the wolf until he was a bloody mess. “Not. My. Friends!” she snarled with each attack.

The silver wolf crouched, whimpering. Honey towered over him, growling loudly.

L - Camp

C - Greta and Teri

Teri heard yelps and cries of pain coming from the edge of camp. "Greta! Make sure Lady and the pups get to the stream safely. I have to go help." He rushed to the battle and saw Sugar laying on the ground. Teri ran to her and leaned down, touching his nose to her wounded leg. He watched as her bone melted together, her muscles fused into one solid mass, and her skin started to close. Sure now that nothing would go wrong with the healing, he nudged Sugar. "Try and get up," he said. "See if it works well enough, though you might still need more time for it to heal completely."

Greta lifted the three puppies onto Lady's back, using her power to keep them there and make sure they wouldn't fall off. She supported Lady with her shoulder and they started making their way to the stream. "Come on, Lady," Greta whimpered to the other dog, "we have to hurry or they will get to us. Please, don't give up."

L: Camp and East Side

C: Despair and Lady

Lady blinked up at Greta gratefully. In her hazy state, she thought she was a pack member from ( insert dog heaven here), and she asked, "Have you come to take me? You must be, since no living dog can be as kind and gentle as you." Her tail wagged feebly. 

Depair shook her head and darted over to Honey. "Good job.  Let's chase him awa-" Her words were cut off as she was attacked by the sickly yellow male. His claws ripped at her ear and blood spattered on the grass. "Who dares..! I am busy already!" She crunched down on his tail and ripped it halfway off. He yelped and staggered away.  Despair turned back to Honey.  

L - Towards the stream

C - Greta

Greta smiled at Lady, then said, "No, I have not come to take you. You are still needed here, your pups especially need you to stay and take care of them." She carefully laid Lady down in a small, hidden circle of bushes near the stream. Greta lifted the puppies from Lady's back and set them down on the ground next to her, being as gentle as she could. "Stay here, and call me if you need help. I'm going to be on the other side of the bushes to watch for trouble." Greta walked out to the stream and sat down. A dead tree was lying on the ground a few yards off, so she focused on it as hard as she could. Finally, it started moving. After a while, Greta had it sitting in the path, blocking the way to the stream. She quickly dug a hole under the tree so that, if and when the others came, they would have an easy way through. She set the dirt in a pile near the hole so it could be packed down in quickly if need be, then crawled through the hole to watch for any enemies and the others.

C- Sugar and Ash

Ash growled as another wolf barged into the camp.

He lunged forward and wrestled with it, until Ash grasped it's neck in his jaws. He bit down and snapped his neck.

The wolf collapsed into a limp heap of fur.

Sugar got up slowly, unstable on her weak legs.

"Thanks Teri" she groaned, her voice hoarse.

She shakily turned back to the group of wolves and howled.

Thunder snarled from the sky, and several beams of lightning crashed down and hit the ground around the wolves, creating a small fire.

Sugar looked at Honey apologetically before turning and lighting a large, living oak tree on fire with her lightning.

The wolves looked around in surprise and horror as the tree next to them exploded into flames.

L: By the stream and east side

C: Despair and Lady

Lady closed her eyes wearily, not sure of anything now. The world was spinning, and everthing was fading.....she conked out and started snoring.

Despair barked happily. The idiots were no match for Dawnpack. Suddenly, a weight slammed into her and knocked her down. It was the yellow wolf again, but (insert dog heaven here), his eyes! They were black all around, with a tiny red dot for a pupil. A berserker!  That meant he would fight until he was literally torn apart! Despair gulped, but managed to sink her fangs into the wolf's front leg.

L- Camp and East Side

C- Sugar and Ash

Ash turned and sniffed the air. He smelled no signs of any more wolves near the camp, but still stood in a crouch, hackles raised, ready for any more intruders.

Sugar lugged forward and pinned down the yellow wolf. She bit his muzzle with all her might.

"Dang this soft mouth" she muttered to herself, though she managed to draw blood.

ooc- If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Golden Retreivers were bred to have a "soft mouth" to carry water fowl during hunting. They are meant to swim and retrieve the game. So the soft mouth assists to not damage the game when they carry it.

Im pretty much a dog expert, lol.

Honey yelped and took a step back into the burning tree. Honey turned around, whimpering. “I'm sorry.” Honey whispered.
