Sugar tilted her head to Despair, "I'll think about. Call me back if you need anything.

She padded out of the den and eyed the group of dogs at the entrance. She padded to them.

"Hey guys" she said. "Hey Char. Wanna come down to the stream with me? Honey, can you come too? I think Char is itching to get on his feet."

Ash nodded. "You got that right." He nuzzled Sugar and went to the Freshkill pile to snatch a squirrel. "I'm gonna rest for a little bit. Was a pretty good hunt today. Seeya."

Sugar nodded. "Yeah. Rest up Ash. Let's head out, if you want."

Sugar supported him with her shoulder. "We're almost there" she murmured.

Thinking the cold might hurt his bones, she quickly changed the cold fall weather to warmth.

Lady licked her lips and lifted her head to see Char, Sugar, and Honey heading out. "Wait for me!" Lady carefully picked her way over to the camp entrance and trotted after the group.

Sugar sighed as she felt her muscles relax and her stress wash away as peace engulfed her.

She then opened her eyes and looked at Lady. "This will be the pack's first litter" she murmured, glancing at Lady's large belly. "And pack territory is becoming an issue."

She looked around nervously, then took a step closer to Lady. "What are the signs of being pregnant?" she asked, her voice barely audible.
