You ran around camp asking others what their thoughts were on the prophecy, and heard things from personified shadows to animals from the future. You then ran into ShadowStep, your aunt, which you had been named after. "Hello, ShadowPup." she said. "Hi." you said quietly. "So what do you think the prophecy means?" she asked. You shrugged, and looked at ShadowStep hopefully. ShadowStep giggled. "I'm guessing you want to know what I think." she said. "Well, I don't really know what to think, but I think it involves you, or me." she continued. You nodded thankfully, and ran off to play.

~1 moon later~

Today was the day. You were finally 6 moons old, and would become an apprentice. You saw StonePup run over to you. "Can you believe it ShadowPup!? We'll become apprentices today!" he said cheerfully. You shook your head. You then heard the leader calling all the clan members to the leader's rock.

You smiled happily, and sprinted to the leader's rock with StonePup. The SilverMoon nodded, acknowledging everyone's prescence, and sat on the leader's rock. He cleared his throat before beginning his speech. "Animals of NightClan, I have gathered you here today for the apprentice ceremony of StonePup, ShadowPup, StarKit, and BatKit." he said. You followed the others, and sat in front of the leader's rock. One by one the others were given their new names, replacing kit or pup with paw. SilverMoon finally walked over to you. "ShadowPup you are now six moons, at the age of apprenticing. So from now, until you have recaived your warrior name, you shall be known as ShadowPaw. DarkThorn shall be your mentor, and I hope he passes down all he knows to you." he said. He then gestured for DarkThorn to come to the leader's rock. "DarkThorn, FoxEye has taught you well, and you have proven to be brave, and loyal. I wish you luck, and please pass all you've known to ShadowPaw." SilverMoon said. DarkThorn nodded, and touched his nose to yours. The entire clan called out your new name. You smiled.

A few seconds later you went over to talk to the other apprentices. You noticed StonePaw already playfighting with BatPaw, so you decided to talk to StarPaw. StarPaw was a grey she-cat known for her intelligence, and perservierence. "Greetings, ShadowPaw."she said, noticing your arrival. "Hello." you said quietly, sitting next to her. "I hear your mentor is DarkThorn." she said. You nodded. "I've been told he ran away from OceanClan." she muttered. You looked at her in surprise, but nodded in acknowledgement.

"What else have you heard?" you asked. "I heard his father was a rouge, and his mother was the OceanClan leader's sister." StarPaw said. You gasped. "Are you sure?" you whispered. StarPaw shook her head. "I said I heard, but who knows? Maybe the rumors ARE true." she said.

You nodded quietly, and walked over to StonePaw, and BatPaw, who had stopped playfighting for the time being. "Did you here what StarPaw said?" you asked. The two nodded in unison. "Do you think they're true?" you asked. BatPaw nodded, but StonePaw shrugged. "You should probably ask him." he said, starting to playfight with BatPaw again.

"Thanks." you said, before walking off to look for DarkThorn. It took much longer than you thought to find DarkThorn, but when you did it felt like a big accomplishment. "Hi DarkThorn." you said, greeting the green eyed, and black furred wolf. He smiled. "Hello ShadowPaw." he said calmly. "I wanted to ask some questions...if you didn't mind." you said. DarkThorn nodded. "Go on." he encouraged. You looked down at the ground, beginning to rethink your choices, but went on when you saw the patience in DarkThorn's eyes. "StarPaw said you ran away from OceanClan...is that true?" you asked. DarkThorn chuckled. "No, other clans, and sometimes this one tend to get my name confused with DarkWater's." he said. You nodded, and sat down. "She also said that your father was a rouge, and that your mother was the OceanClan leader's sister." you said. "Again, I have no relations to OceanClan." he said. "Wh-what about your dad?" you stuttered. DarkThorn stayed silent, but nodded. "That part is true." he said after awhile, sounding slightly ashamed.

Comfort Dark Thorn

You gently pat Darkthorn's shoulder. "Don't worry. It doesn't matter who you're related to." you said. Darkthorn smiled at your comforting words, and nodded. "I guess that's true." he said. You nodded. Hearing Stonepaw calling you, you said, "I'll see you for training in the morning.". You quickly ran off to meet Stonepaw. Later that night as you were going to sleep you heard something in the forest.
