"We will do what we can to succeed." she said before beginning to wave.  "Good luck on your trip up the mountain." she said with a smile before going silent and wrapping her wings around her.  She then turned to Deniigi as he began to speak, turning her head down when he finished and frowning.  "I don't know if my original reason is adequate anymore, though I do have more reasons now to succeed.  Besides, I don't like giving up, so I most likely won't.  It's one of the few times when stubborness comes into handy." she said with a chuckle.

"I suppose so. Being stubborn isn't a bad thing though, it just means that you're harder to deter. It's not something too many people have these days," he said, chuckling as well, "If you don't mind me asking, what was your original reason for going on this jouney? It must have been important to you ."

Goldenscale began twidling her thumbs, keeping her head down.  "I was selfish.  I was told I was going to live longer than everyone I loved, and after been abandoned so many times before I couldn't deal with the thought of death taking those I love from me one at a timeuntil everyone was gone..." she said quietly.

"That can be considered both selfish and selfless depending on who you ask. While you're doing it because you don't want to to die, you are also giving them then chance to live a fuller life," he said, giving a smile, "On top of that, look at what all you will have to go through, and everything you've been through so far. You travel a difficult road to revive the magic that is needed for what you want. People all over this world will likely benefit from the returne of that magic as well."

Goldenscale listened to Deniigi as he spoke, then gave a nod as he finished.  "That's why I continue the journey.  I do this for everyone else.  My reasons no longer seem valid enough, so I plan on finishing the journey for the sake of everyone else.  But we have to take little steps at a time in order to get everything done right the first time." she answered, giving a small smile.

"Just don't try to be perfect. Even nature makes mistakes from time to time, and time becomes broken every so often. To be perfect is to be unnatural," Deniigi said, giving a wave when Midnight walked in, "You are something special, oth in body and mind. This world could use more people like you."

"Hello Goldenscale, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. Aipallovik went out to do his job, and I didn't want to be alone," Midnight said, stepping around the fire, "Kaden suggested I comehere to you."

Goldenscale turned her head to the side, a confused frown on her face.  "There is a way to do things perfectly?  I didn't think it was possible.  I knew it was possible to do things near perfection, but not exactly there..." she said, turning her head and smiling at Midnight.  She then turned her head back to Deniigi and she smiled modestly, turning her head to look more at the ground.  She then turned her head again in Midnight's direction, shaking her head in response.  "No, you aren't interrupting anything.  If you didn't want to be alone, you could have called for me and I would have come.  I've gotten enough rest, and you need to get rest." she said, walking over to her.  "Well, we both need to get rest since we were both sick.  It just took your body longer to react to the sickness." she said.

"There's not a way unless you are a machine like those made by those humans. While we all seak perfection at something, it is not in nature for it to be possible.Our minds and emotions prevent that," Deniigi said, shaking his head, "All we can do is do our best. Nature did not give us life to give up our minds for perfection."

I just thought that you might be doing something. I didn't want to interrupt you. I owe you more than I could possible give, I'd rather not dissrescpect you," Midnight said, taking a seat beside Goldenscale, "I was thinking you might be able to teach me about this flower that sustains my life too. I remember when I first saw it, the roots were clearly visible digging into my chest. Now, they seem to have sunk in, and the stem of the flower seems to have fused with my scales."

Goldenscale gave a nod in understanding.  She knew she wasn't one because she could bleed like everyone else.  She then turned to Midnight when she started talking and forwned.  "You owe me nothing, Midnight.  I was only doing what should have been done a long time ago.  You needn't think you owe me.  Just knowing you are alive and in a better position is payment enough." she said.  Midnight's next statement made Goldenscale smile and she nodded.  "Of course I can try, though I'm not sure how successful I'd be at it.  Though I am connected to a flower, I don't have it protruding from my chest like your does.  It makes things a bit harder, but I deal with it.  So what exactly do you want to know?" she asked her.

"I was just wanting to know more about it in general. It seems more resilient than similar flowers we've seen on the way here. Beyond that, I know next to nothing about it, I don't even remember how it came to be. I remember calling to you for help, and the next thing I remember is waking up with this flower and you and several others around," Midnight said, looking down to the flower, "I can sense what I can best describe as deep shadows within it if that helps any."

Goldenscale nodded, thinking as Midnight spoke.  "Well, our flowers are supposed to be more resiliant.  It could mean death for us if they die.  Though I'm sure it probably won't, I'm not sure.  It could just revert us back to the states we were in before the flowers, and I'm not sure how badly that would be.  To be honest, I don't even think I was expecting a flower to grow on your chest, but then again, I wasn't expecting to be connected to a flower either.  The reason you feel shadows is because the Shadowbinder must have chosen you as its champion.  I don't know enough about it though, so don't quote me on that." she said.  She then thought some more on Midnight's particular flower.  "I don't exactly know how similar our flowers are since mine isn't exactly attached to me, but I hope my information is helpful..." she said with an apologetic smile.

"You gave me more information on it that I knew previously, even if it's only speculation. It's better than nothing at least," Midnight said, watching as her flower opened up to show a pitch black sphere at its center.

When the flower reached full bloom, the light from the fire dimmed  as if it had burn down to coals. From the shadows that now surrounded them, the dark figure of the Shadowbinder rose from the floor. "Your flower is very different compared to Goldenscale's in many ways, but the basic function is still the same. So long as your flowers live, your bodies will never fade," Shadowbinder said  once she pulled herself from the shadow she had emerged from, "Besides the obvious differences, the flower I gave you acts as a conduit for my very being. As such, you will have access to power shadow magic should you ever pursue the art."

"Well, if I had know an elemental spirit would be visiting, I would have prepared the proper ceremonial gear," Deniigi said after a few moments of silence from Shadowbinder.

"I know not how Icewarden did things around here, but that is not needed for me. I'd rather this be a casual meeting rather than something in need of ceremonial tradition," Shadowbinder said, "I came to answer questions from my champion. I see no reason for that to be a formal occasion."

Goldenscale gave a nod and smiled in apology.  "I don't know how similar our flowers are, but I tried anyways." she said with a sigh.  She then watched as Midnight's flower began to bloom, backing away to give whatever was coming more room.  Her eyes then widened when she saw that it was Shadowbinder herself that had come into the room, though she lowered her head out of respect before raising it again.  It surprised her more to hear that Deniigi had ceremonial garb for visits like these, but then again, each elemental spirit was different.  Moonlight certainly required no such thing, and appeared more as a motherly figure than as a highly regarded spirit.  She then smiled when the Shadowbinder said she came to answer Midnight's questions.  At least now Midnight would have accurate information.  

"Seeing as I have a limited time, let's answer those questions first. That flower is made from my essence, but is as organic as you or Goldenscale. With that being true, it is as  tough as the shadows themselves, but that also means you can recover by retreating into the dark," Shadowbinder said, glancing around briefly and acknoledging Goldenscale briefly, "You've probably already noticed, but the flower itself is slowly working to replace replace the bone it was planted in. Eventually, all that will be visible of it will be the bloom as it fully becomes part of you. With the flower being of my essence, that means you will eventually come to own many of the same powers I do as if you were my own child." Starting to walk around Midnight, Shadowbinder placed her wing over her as a mother would their own child. "I may not be able to protect you from physical threats, but so long as that floweris alive, I will protect youfrom the spirits that would see your demise. In saving you, I have made as much my child as the flight of nocturnes in the Shadow Fields far south of here," she said, "Unlike them, you would be the first to have a direct connection to me in several thousand years."

Taking a seat beside Goldenscale, Deniigi listened attently. Hearing what the flower made Midnight, he smiled as he watched Shadowbinder begin to groom Midnight as a parant would. "So, she really is a child of shadow then," he said, keeping his voice low to avoid intterupting Shadowbinder as she began whispering into Midnight's ears.

Goldenscale watched Shadowbinder and Midnight as they talked and smiled.  It reminded her of the conversations she had had with Moonlight.  It was good to know about her flower, know the differences between her's and Midnight's.  She turned her head to Deniigi as he whispered to her.  "Yes, she is as much a child of shadow as I am child of the moon.  Though I do wonder if she can change her form like the shadows can.  I can, but it depends on the form, the amount of energy, and how much light is present." she whispered in reply.
