"The grounds are leveled. The scales are balanced," Mayumi said to herself as she watched the fight begin.

Goldenscale began with a harsh headbutt to her opponent's stomach.  While he tried to recover from the attack, she began to kick him and puch him with the same ferocity.  He then grasped her neck during one of her punches and threw her to the ground.  He then dug his talons deeep into her side.  While she writhed, he then picked her up and threw her into the air.  She then flew up high into the air with him following.  When she was at a considerabe height, she then dove and began to push the large gryphon towards the ground.  Even though he dug his beak into her neck to get her to let go, she never did.  Once she was a few feet above the ground, she then pushed the dragon into the ground while she pulled up and spiraled sing her momentum.  She then landed.

As Goldenscale landed, Clair, Laria, and Ahnah showed up, landing beside Mayumi and Tieral. "Looks like we missed the biggest part of the fight,"Clair said, looking over the current situation.

Ricken arrived with them.  "What happened here!" he said in surprise.

Goldenscale limped over to her fallen opponent, her wounds just now beginning to sting, and held out her hand.  "Now do you know what it feels like to be beaten upon and teased for loosing?" she asked gently.  The gryphon then looked up and took he hand.  "Yes, I do realize how wrong I was to do that.  You were a formidable opponent and I was blind to underestimate you.  I guess I was jealous because everyone treated you with such respect even though you were a dragon.  But being Champion changed nothing for me.  No one even acknowledged me ever since I won the fight.  Why is t that everyone has such a respect for you?" he asked as Goldenscale helped him up.  "Being Champion is more than just a title.  It is a responsibility.  As a rite of passage, young gryphons come to me to fight to test their bravery and their skills.  Even if they loose, they move on because of the bravery they showed.  I also help them to realize what mistakes they are making during the fight and I help them to realize what went wrong.  I help everyone with my title, not just show it." she said.  "Your attitude also decides how people will treat you.  You were rude after the fight yesterday, and eeryone knew it.  So they refused to acknowlege you in hopes you would realize what you did wrong.  Do you understand now?" she said.  The larger gryphon nodded.  "Yes I do.  Thank you." he said as he limped away.

"Goldenscale just won back her title. I made it so the fight would be even, regardless of what either of them might have tried before coming here," Mayumi said, releasing the spell she had placed, "I haven't seen a proper 'friendly competition' in quite some time. It's refreshing to see people fighting for something other than to kill their enemy. Last I saw a competition like this was back on Valenth in Gier."

Goldenscale raised her head the best she could with the gash she had recieved during the fight."I did it." she panted when she walked over. Her sides did hurt from getting talons dug into them, but she could deal with it. "I told you I could. And I didn't cheat either." she said proudly.

"Here, let me fix up that gash for you," Ahnah said, taking out her bone and  slowly sliding it along the gash, causing it to seal up, "It'll still be sore for a while, but it's not going to get infected any time soon now."

"I'm proud of you, we all are," Mayumi said, with a smile, "If you weren't so young, I would consider you a Wyr. For now, I'll just have to settle in knowing you desever such a title when you come of age."

"A Wyr, a female Wyrm, is a dragon of great respect, and often power, withing the Flarion dragonflight. The only requirements to become a Wyr  or Wyrm is to command the respect of several respected figures, and to be old enough to have children," she said, "It is a honorary title and nothing more, butit also gives you purchase in an arguement with other members of the dragonflight."

"Huh... But I'm not a Flarion..." she panted.

"You don't have to be a Flarion to be part of the dragonflight. You only have to be a dragon and part of the Firestarters. You would not be the first non flarion to recieve the title," she said, taking out a small bottle and handing it to Goldenscale, "Drink this, it'llrestore some of your stamina."

"Are you alright Goldenscale," she asked, "You can tell me ifsomething is wrong."
