"By taking something that is part of the shaman and placing all their magic potential in it, they focus all that potential into a much stronger pool to call on. While I can use any spell with this, healing magic is greatly boosted by this concentration of magic. Due to the same ritual, I can heal wounds on both myself and others at almost impossible rates," she said, taking the bone and stabbing it through her right hand. Upon removing the bone, the hole left behindquickly closed and healed over with no sign of ever being there, "Dispite this, I can not mend broken bones or a stab to the heart with the magic."

"Yet I watched Goldenscale get stabbed in her side with a knife, yet I saw she never died.  She somehow Libes through the worst wounds without dying...  But I believe not even she would be able to lo live with a knife to the heart or heal a mended bone on contact.  She might be able to heal the bone after a few days, but never at one time.  I think it would be highly unlikely to be able to do that without a very powerful spell..." Ricken said.

"Goldenscale has something much stronger keeping her alive. Nature itself strives to keep her alive. She commands magic only nature has the strength to wield. Her magic picks up where mine falls short, but there are pains even she can't heal" she said, holding her bone to her chest, "Some things are better left unsaid, and unhealed."

"Yes, but I have tried something that no one dares try.  I tried to keep one from death.  One that had already died from death once more if that makes sense.  Death is something unbearable.  I believe you remember me trying to freeze myself to death after don't you, Ahnah." Goldenscale said as she walked over.  "You tried suicide!  You, of all people!" Ricken said with surprise.  "Yes.  There are things I can't stand, and death is something I wished not to witniss firsthand." she said with a frown.  Ricken stood with his mouth open.

Frost gets back to the council. His enforcers are ready when he was.

"Yes, and I wouldn't allow it. As an enforcer, I am sworn to protect you from everything I can, even from yourself if need be," Ahnah said, looking to Goldenscale, a hint of sorow in her eyes, "Protecting you goes beyond being an enforcer for me. I've sworn to myself to protect you, even if it means hurting myself metally to do so."

Standing in front of the council building was a large booth with two doors. One was labeled council only and the other was left unmarked. Beside the booth, a podium similar to the one used during Goldenscale's induction stood. "Head on into the building. You'll be making your first appearance as council head surounded by the other council members until you reach the podium," one of the council members said, "We'll meet you inside once people start showing up."

"I would never want anyone to hurt themselves because of my, whether it physically or mentally.  That is why I try hard to protect the forest without you all.  I consider you, Metraz, and Tieral my family, and it hurts me to see any of you harmed in any way." she said.  

_she tried to commit suicide...  But she is the kindest dragon I know!  How could death be so bad that she would do that.  What happened exactly, Ahnah?" Ricken asked her.

"I hurt myself every morning with the thoughts I have. I know the ideas will be rejected, but I continue to think them," she said before turning back to Ricken, "I don't know the detail on what happened that day. I had found Goldenscale in the middle of a blizzard. From what Metraz had told me, they had failed to save a dragoness despite the magic she possesses."

"I haven't told you because it would change nothing. These ideas hold to you alone and no one else. I could care less what anyone else thinks about them. They hurt because I know they'll only be rejected due to other people presenting them to you first. They hurt because I know they'll fall on a taken audience. I wont try to change you," she said, looking to the ground, "You are happy with what you have, and I would rather hurt myself and see you happy than force you to change for my benefit."

"You could still tell me. No one forces me to do anything. I am willingly asking you to tell me what you want to change in me. Is that against my will?" she asked.

"It was thanks to Tieral you learned of and cut the rule saying enforcers couldn' show emotion to their council member. His love for you sparked a change that would ultimately come back  and lift him. he got to you first, and he won your heart while my love remained unsung that day," she said, her ears laying down in fear, "I will not make you change your choice in a mate. Tieral deserves your choice in him."

"Then I might have had a chance. Maybe I should have said something sooner, but is too late now," she said, starting to cry as she pull a small silver heart shaped necklace from her satchel and handing it to Goldenscale, "Here, I had this made the day after you had attempted suicide. I couldn't work up the courage to tell you my feeling until it was too late."

"Oh, Ahnah... Don't cry..." she said, using a paw to wipe away her tears before pulling her into a hug, wrapping her wings around them both.
