"I don't want you going out and getting yourself hurt. If you can't find one of those crystals safely just come back and say so. We can find a different ritual," he said, "Just be careful and don't take any chances that you would regret later."

"Alright." she said.  "I should be back with one." she said bounding off to the chest to see if she could fins the gem.  When she found the chest, she looked through it, only finding some normal crystals.  She sighed and then went through the process of making one of the gems needed for the ritual all the while making it seem like one created long ago. She made sure that it was what they needed before walking back into the cave and to Kokkorok and Mira's home.

As Goldenscale got near, the crystal began taking on a dark purple glow.

"That was fast," he said, looking up from the piece of stone he was carving out, "Did you already have one or something?"

Goldenscale fumbled with the stone, noticing it's dark purple color.  She hissed at the stone, but not achieving anything by it.  "Es, but it turned purple for some reason." she said, wary of the crystal in her hands.

"I'm unfamiliar with these crystals so I have no clue what that means," he said, "You might ask Mira. She might have heard something about it while she was trapped."

She went over to Mira.  "Mira, I got the crystal but I have no idea what it means when it is this purple color." she said, hiss I g out the word purple.  She had nothing against the color, she just thought it represented some form of evil.

"That just means it detects free roaming spirits, and is ready to capture them. Thankfully, they can only do that with a spell that prepares the spirit," she said looking over the crystal, "It's the same kind of crystal litches use to keep from passing on, but that's the only use these have in today's world. All other uses have been either forgotten or phased out. This ritual we're reparing would be concidered a dark art by human standards."

"By human standards?  But aren't they the least magical creatures?" she asked.  'Maybe I'll fix that when I leave...' she thought.

"They used to be as magical as any of the legendary species, but lost it slowly to the machines they build today. Very few still hold the aptitude for magic now," she said, handing the cystal back to Goldenscale, "Some of the spirits the demons had captured we humans from that time. They say humans made the decision to drop magic for something they could call their creation. Now, the only magic used among humans is that of dark origins. hence their distrust of all magic."

"That's messed up.  Maybe those necromancers and magicians really are good for nothing..." she said quietly.  So far every one of them had hurt her or gone after her in some way.  She had yet to meet one.

"Humans may not be able to properly wield magic now, but some of their machines can hold their own against it. The spirit that was used for energy before it was my turn had made a machine that could keep a target alive no matter what happened to them so long as it was pointed at them and active. The only problem they had with it was that it was twice the size of a fully grown dragon."

"Then how could they lug it around it it was the size of a dragon?  It must have been heavy considering the parts they used to create it and it's mass." she said.

"That's why the size was a problem. The last thing he told me was that they used his invention in hospitals to help heal those who are on the verge of death due to a wound or surgery," she said, "From what he said though, humans may be trying to return to magic."

"Awesome." she said with a smile.  'Maybe I can help them then.' she thought.

"I wouldn't count on them wanting anything to do with help from other species though. Most are affraid of dragons and any other legendary species. Those that aren't tend to try and capture them as pets, and are refered to as beastkeepers," she said bringing a paw to her head, "I'm still not used to picking up on other's thoughts. I'll be glad when I get my body back, and not have to worry about that."
