Snowflake had padded out of camp at dawn and was now heading deep into the forest to the Stone of Visions. She decided she'd hunt a bit on the way back. In the cave she touched her paw to the stone and was sent into another vision.
Alwala padded across the soft grass the smell of rabbit filling her nose. She eagerly followed it and soon came apon a burrow. She sat and waited until finally the rabbit darted from the hole. She pounced and killed it swiftly. "Thank you for this prey." She dipped her head.
"Who are you?! What are you doing here?" A snarl came from behind her.
Alwala flipped around and glared at who spoke, a small black and white wolf. "This is my terrirtory."
The other wolf seemed to shrink back and cower. "Alwala... I-I... I didn't realize I had crossed the border! P-please forgive me."
Alwala reconized the wolf, Jiloya from Oklyra's pack. "Aaahh, a stray. How's the measly little pack coming? Weakly I suppose. You never had much prey." She sneered.
"I can't s-say Alwala. I've been forbidden too."
Alwala snarled and leapt forward pinning the wolf to the ground. "You have three choices. Tell me and leave to go back to your weak little pack, join mine, or never leave this spot, if you know what I mean."
"I'll tell you, just please, please let me go afterwards! We aren't doing well, a few of our wolves are sick. Now, let me go...?"
"Very well Jiloya. Go, never return!" She growled after her and she raced into the forest.
Snowflake removed her paw and padded from the cave, into the morning light. The brush rustled and she sprang forward grabbing a rabbit in her jaws. She walked back to camp satisfied with her catch, and when she got back selected a smaller rabbit to eat.
I've learned that goodbyes
Will always hurt
Pictures never replace
having been there
Memories good and bad
Will bring tears
And words can never
Replace those feelings
