How do you go about breeding deviants.
I've had my account for a long time but only played for a little
while. Just need a refresher on how to play and how to breed etc.

You have to get two pets that have homozygous genes for color and/or pattern, for optimal chances.
You can get deviants (either deviant in color or deviant in pattern, with a 1/10 chance) and double deviants (deviant in both color and pattern).
Homozygous means both genes are the same, for example, cream and cream for both the dominant gene and the recessive gene, or double Bird of Prey, etc.

As you can see, her stats say she is Black* (Meaning she's a deviant), and when you look under genetics, both her color and pattern genes are the same and have a star, showing she's a deviant.

So from what I'm getting, both parents passed on the red gene and since red/red can cause red*/red* that's how it happened. You got lucky!

I have a theory.
I've noticted that certain speacies take on their color from a certain gender.
Ex: Roc babies take on their mothers color and same with pumas
Dragons take on their fathers color and same with cockatrices
Unicorn seem to take on their mothers color
Gryphons: I honestly don't know. I got random colors with gryphons and once got a random color with a roc.
Lykos seem to take a mix between both parents

Interesting theory. I'm also curious if it's more likely to have a male deviant born then a female because I've had ZERO female devs born and like 7/8 male devs born.

Well, I have a male deivant buckskin piebald you can breed with if you need too. Price may be hefty, just saying. He is deivant in the color buckskin.
