Yes, guardians are those protecting the treasure chests. You can distinguish most of them because of their red color and if you're unsure, on all islands aside from grassland, they face to the left(the opposite of the direction the normal monsters face in) as far as I have observed. On grassland, the system is a mess: the swan guardian faces in the same direction as their normal versions but they still have some red ... well and that brownish lindwurm thingie looks the same regardless of normal version or guardian version ... if there is a chest behind it it's a guardian, that's all I can tell XD  All other monster guardians have at least some red on them and face to the left.

i never looked at the direction of the faces XD just ran around the islands to defeat the monsters before the treasures.

maybe i'm wrong, but i think, it's getting less to find from year to year. yesterday i lost my mood, had been on dozens and dozens of island and got maybe 7 Eggs. puh, no.

I must must must get more yellow fish eggs! But I have other things to do as well... Urgh.

dang it! I never saw the original post/new until my computer crashed. So I've missed most of it. I guess I'll have to wait for next year to get a hopper!

Get and spend as many eggs as you can - you might still get in the top 50 players and thus get a free hopper as a prize.

I hope eventually we will be able to breed our hoppers. Their offspring would be pretty darn cute.
