Dion signaled for the others to stay where they were, she crawled toward the herd and blended in with the grass. She raised her haunches as the Wildebeast was taking more and more notice of the cubs.

Spark jumped at the wildebeast as it started to charge, the cub hit the wildebeast and bounced off straight into it's path. Spark squealed as she landed awkwardly on her leg.

"Spark!" River roared, then turned on the Wildebeast, baring his little fangs. It charged at him and he froze, unsure of what to do.

Dion leaped onto the Wildebeast's back. She tore at him with her fangs. She snarled as it began to buck and dug her claws into it' back, making it even madder.

River ran away from the leader, but instead of heading away from the herd, he headed into it.

Shiku and Aslan darted in after Dion. They tried to swipe at the Wildebeast's legs. Dion held fast as the beast bucked. It grew angrier and angrier as Shiku and Aslan swiped at it's legs. Upon seeing a lion heading into the stampeding herd, Dion yelled, "Run while you can!"

Spark's eyes widened in fear as the wildebeast kicked her, sending the cub flying into a tree. And then, black.

The young cub looked around in terror. He turned and bolted towards where he'd last seen Spark.

Shiku snarled at the Wildebeast as it kicked and spun. He watched as one of the cubs went flying. He ran after it, leaving Aslan and Dion to fight the leader. 

"Spark wake up!" River said fearfully. He nosed at the unconscious cub."Help! Someone help!"

Shiku jumped, sailing towards the cubs. He landed in a cloud of dust and began to sniff the cub on the ground.

River froze as the strange lion landed next to him, he shrank down."Don't hurt her..."

Shiku looked the cub that had spoken, "Wouldn't dream of it." He then picked up the cub on the ground in his mouth. "Take me to your camp, and hurry!" He said to the other cub.

River nodded and bounded away from the Wildebeast, he ran into camp as Lightning padded out.
