Chase grinned."Well, you can watch me kick everyones butt at try-outs" Chase left it at that and walked off to do his homework...

Rory raised her eyebrow as Chase walked off. 

Well, it seems like I've got plans for Saturday now

Chase sat in the changing room, waiting for his turn at tryouts. He had his Firebolt and he was ready to kick butt.

Rory sat on the benches, waiting for Chase to have a shot at seeker. (Sorry if it's the wrong position, I couldn't remember which one it was). The two of them had become better friends in the past week, and the 'thestral' incident was way behind them. The day was cloudy, and Rory had brought an umbrella just in case. The quiddich captain signaled to the boy who was trialing for a chaser, and shouted something into the change rooms, where Rory knew the rest of the people wanting to trial were waiting. She saw a blond boy in red robes approach the captain, a sleek broom in hand. Rory realised with a start it was Chase. He looked a lot different in red.

Chase grinned at the Captain, who just glared at him."Catch the snitch in under five minutes. And you've got the position." Chase felt his heart sink. Five minutes?? He was toast. 

Rory whooped from the almost empty benches and Chase gave her a nervous smile. She turned her wand into a red flag that said 'go Chase!!!' And waved it around. Then he almost laughed. The captain held up his wand and let the snitch go. He counted down from 3 and made sparks shoot out of it With a bang.

Chase shot off the ground after the Snitch. He was on its tail for a couple of seconds, then Chase made a mistake of looking away. It was only for a split second, but it was long enough for the Snitch to zoom off. He slowed down and looked around for the slightest glint of gold.....

Rory squeaked in surprise at the bang, then saw Chase streak forward. After a few seconds though, he slowed down, and Rory could tell he'd lost it. There was some good news though, it was right by Rorys face. She pulled out her umbrella and swung it at the tiny hovering ball. It zoomed through the air, right by Chase's face. He grinned and snatched it out of the air.

Chase swooped dow to land next to the Captain."Caught it in one." His grin widened as he saw the look of surprise cross the Captains face, then he clapped Chase on the back."Great job." He said,and Chase nodded his thanks before going back into the changerooms.

Rory waited out side of the change rooms for Chase, ready to give him a big high five. He stepped out of the doorway, in normal weekend clothes. He had an enormous grin on his face.

"so, do you think you kicked butt?"

"I think I did." His grin widened."Now I can kick slytherins butt as well."

Rory patted him on the back and grinned.

"Definitely."

Chase sat in one of the armchairs by the fire in the Griffindor commonroom. Coal sat on the chairs arm, watching the flames in the fireplace.

Rory was curled up on the corner of the couch, trying to get her assessments over and done with before Christmas holidays. She hadn't decided whether she was going home or not, but she was going to cross that bridge when she gets to it. Chase was staring at the fireplace, a soft smile on his face.

"Hey are you staying for Christmas?"

Chase looked up." I guess...." He hadn't really thought about it. But, then again he'd had other, more important, stuff to deal with."I probably will."
